Out of town and wanted to treat my employees to doughnuts and this was the closest bakery. After walking in and trying to make eye contact with the employee who was watching tv, I asked if could please get 2 dozens doughnuts. She roughly through two boxes on the counter and began folding them still no eye contact or word spoken from the employee. Finally she asked “what do you want” I said whatever you have a mix would be fine. With an annoyed looked she started smashing the doughnut in the boxes then said “you need to call next time if you want 2 dozen she she can make them ahead of time” I said sure no problem she announced my total walked away then came back to toss me my receipt and walked away with no other words spoken. I recommend any other bakery if you would like to be greeted and treated with an ounce of respect. I felt like I inconvenienced this employee by trying to my doughnut from a bakery that SELLS DOUGHNUTS!!...
Read moreThe best turkey sandwiches in town. I can't tell you why they are better than the regular sandwich shops, but they just are. You get a large sandwich, small bag of chips, can of pop and either a donut or cookie - I opted for a strawberry cookie and it was delicious - for just over $11. Its more than worth it and get more food than if you hit one of the chains. I used to live in the neighborhood and really have no reason to return except for my Vees fix. Let's make sure these...
Read moreThis is a great establishment run by good people making good food for a very fair price. It's a deli/bakery combo with awesome sandwiches (turkey, ham, chick, corned beef.) The neighborhood looks a little sketchy at first glance but I promise, you'll be safe. I bought upgraded "large" sandwich combos for myself and a coworker today. Two big sammiches, two bags of chips, two cans of soda, and a cookie the size of your hand with your fingers spread out, all for the low price of $16.50. They also have some crazy looking donuts, pies, and cakes, but I haven't tried them yet. Don't be afraid of the east side. There's good folks everywhere. Support...
