Okie Dokie Teahouse — Restaurant in Katy

My husband's been waiting for this place to open, and I totally regret putting it off!

Came in on a Sunday evening, and it was just so clean and nicely laid out inside!

The manager was so kind, and she happily answered all of our questions regarding the drinks; like what was in them, what she recommended, I mean.. you get it, I asked way too many questions LOL but she didn't seem bothered by it at all!

We ordered: oreo ice cream float - 10/10: my son DEMOLISHED it and didn't like us talking to him while he drank it away lol

chocolate ice cream float - 10/10: my oldest enjoyed this drink, he said he preferred this than other places we've taken him to

coffee frappe - 8/10: this was my drink, and it tasted like a Haagen Dazs coffee ice cream; it was pretty good but a little heavy

strawberry mango smoothie with boba - 10/10: my daughter loved this drink, and didn't have any complaints about it!

popcorn chicken - 10/10: crunchy, flavorful, and SOOOO GOOOD (I was pretty stingy with it and didn't want to share with my kids)

banh mi - 8/10: it was pretty good, I don't think it's the best, but still pretty good!

Overall, we had a great time. We dined in, and social distancing was implemented by having tables closed in between. The manager checked up on us, and was very accommodating!

SERVICE REVIEW: I was disappointed with my first experience at Okie Dokie as the menu was promising. I placed a pick up order around 6:12, said it would be ready the latest 6:25. I get there at 6:35, asked for my order showed the receipt that I paid. The counter girl didn’t even process my order, my order was still in the queue on their tablet with 1 person sitting in the cafe, meaning they don’t check to-go orders regularly. No apology from the staff for their negligence. When I showed her my receipt at the counter she began to ask them to cook my order at that point it was an inconvenience to me as I was headed to work hence the reason I placed a to-go order from the start. I had them cancel my order. No boba. No popcorn chicken. It was disappointing because I had high hopes for this place and really wanted to try but luckily there are other amazing, reliable tea houses nearby. If you’re in a rush and place a to-go order this is not the place for you but if you’re looking for a cute tea shop to enjoy and order in-house the ambiance seemed nice. Can’t rate the...

I used to frequent this place as I loved having Boba, stopped going since the attendant was rude and offered a bad service. I ordered Boba tea and popcorn shrimp in spicy as I always did (they offer regular and spicy with sauce). This time I went in to order popcorn shrimp, I was given the wrong order, and on picking the right one, they over-seasoned the shrimp like I came in begging for spicy shrimp after messing up my previous order. The seasoning was too much I couldn’t even eat the shrimp and threw in the trash. Since then, I made up my mind I will never visit this place. After I complained about messing up my order, they was no apology tendered, they offered I come pick up the right order and that was all they could do. Only for me to go back and pick an “over seasoned herb fried pop corn shrimp”.

Know that prior to this event, the attendant was always sassy and rude with her response, but my priority was to quench my cravings so i didn’t mind that. However, the service I received was the worse on this...
