An Asian-Latin fusion restaurant? Yeah, I definitely had to try out San Eatery, and I'm glad that I did. You order at the counter, and they give you a buzzer to let you know when your food will be ready, and I really like it when restaurants do this! Now here is what I got:
♡ Ribs BBQ (Costillas). 9/10 Wow, this was SO good. I was craving some Chinese BBQ, and this definitely satisfied my craving. Some of the pieces of meat were a little hard to chew, but I didn't mind because the sweet-savory sauce was very yummy, and there was a good amount of it. I had the ribs with the mofongo!
♡ Mofongo. 6/10 This is my first time trying Mofongo, and I have to say that this reminds me of mashed potatoes, but the texture is a little on the drier side. I think this is just OK, but I personally wouldn't get it again. Maybe fried rice would've been better with my bbq ribs.
♡ Tostones con ajo. 7/10 First time trying fried plantains, and wow, the garlic definitely elevated it. I'm assuming the sauce that came with it is spicy mayo, but I think it paired nicely with the tostones. I do wish the garlic was spread out more evenly between the tostones, but that's okay. It's still good!
。 ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ 。 FINAL VERDICT: I'd definitely come here again. There are other things on the menu that I'd love to try, like the other platter options and fried rice. Also, the portion sizes are huge, which is good to stretch out for another day or two! It's probably best to not eat the food in one sitting anyways cos the food is a...
Read moreBest Puerto Rican Chinese Rice! The small location is not very flashy from the outside, but in my book it's great tasting food that counts and SAN delivers BIG time! Puerto Rican Chinese rice is quite different from what you have tried in traditional restaurants; before SAN, I had only known of one location who served it but they're now closed. Upon entering SAN Eatery you will be greeted by Jenni or Ale which are both very friendly. I strongly recommend you try their BBQ Pork Ribs combination with the Puerto Rican rice! The SAN Pepper Steak is also really good well. Food servings are enough to split between 2. In addition to this they also sell "Mofongo" which is a Puerto Rican staple made out of fried plantains. SAN also has Tostones topped with fresh garlic, which are prepared at the moment ( you can hear them mashing the plantains)! Menu prices score high on my value scale with many options ranging between $9 and $11. Did I mention they sell Malta India? Yup. If you're tired of eating the same traditional Chinese food and are nearby, give SAN Eatery a try...this little gem is totally...
Read moreOrdered online through clover and drove to store to pick-up order. Arrived and order had been taken by someone else. The lady that took the order was contacted and confirmed she took the wrong order and said she would return. I was offered a “snack” while I wait. #1 - As a customer, I do not want food that has left the store and been returned even if the another client has taken, for sanitary reasons. #2 I was on a time constraint getting someone to work, therefore I could not wait any longer for a correction for this.
The corrective action that should have immediately been made, would have been to start re-making the order. Just cause the lady said she would return does not mean she is. I wasted enough time allowing them to figure out their simple mistake in their operational deficiency that we were forced to refund the money in order to get my buddy to work on time. This situation should have been dealt with very differently, as I the paying customer should not have to deal with their deficiencies in administering to-go orders.
Will go...
