A few weeks ago, I went into the Richmond location to order a Birthday cake for my daughter to be picked up on April 26th, 2019. I had ordered cakes from this location 3 times before with no complaints- except for the fact that the slab cakes are becoming thinner and thinner each time it seems. This last order though was a hassle though. The cake book was gone, and the cake order forms were no longer either (I asked if they were out, and they told me they don't have them anymore). I asked if I could order a cake, and I was initially told to go choose one from the freezer- I reiterated that I wanted to order a custom cake for a later date- not choose one from the general freezer. I then said I wanted to order a slab (largest cake available) cake, and she then said she wasn't even sure they made those and they only did them in vanilla. I told them I had ordered 3 other slab cakes before- all with the standard DQ vanilla fudge/cookie chocolate combo. She seemed confused by this, and said she wasn’t even sure they could do it and she would need to have her manager call me the next day to tell me if they could do it or not (I had driven 20 min specifically to order this cake because there isn't an online option to do this location) so i was slightly annoyed. They did call me the next day and informed me that they could do the cake, in the size and flavor I needed. However, because there were no cake forms, I had to try to explain what I wanted design-wise over the phone. When I went to pick up the cake, I told them I was there to pick up a cake I ordered, and several times she kept telling me to look in the general freezer as it should be in there… I said- 1. I can see it’s not in there because I ordered a large slab cake, and Why would a custom cake I ordered be placed in the general freezer where anyone could have come in before me and purchased it? So she proceeds to double check the general freezer and then goes and starts asking around where the cake would be. I was getting nervous that I had come all the way there again, only to find out there was no cake…but luckily, they found it in a back freezer. But it did not have the writing I asked for on it- so had they actually put it in the general freezer- someone could have bought it before pick up. I asked if they could write on it and informed me they could not! Ok- not a big deal, but I was starting to lose my confidence in ever ordering from here again. To top off the whole thing- every time I’ve gotten a cake from there- they have progressively become thinner and thinner. This cake had barely a sliver of chocolate ice cream on it, and then mostly- but not much still- vanilla. I feel like if I’m going to pay over $50 for an ice cream cake, it would be up to Dairy Queen standards (equal levels chocolate and vanilla like it has been always!) Read moreI haven’t been to Dairy Queen in years, so my family and I thought about giving the new location on Peek rd a try on Sunday 6/17/18 night. First mistake was what’s advertised online doesn’t apply to this location which was very disappointing. We came to this location for just ice cream but decided to get a chicken basket. I ordered three 4 pc chicken baskets, small fry, small Oreo blizzard and a small strawberry sundae for $34 threw the drive thru. Second mistake I understand if I order a large amount of food I would have to wait a little bit which isn’t a huge problem but don’t give me my ice cream first so it will melt while I’m waiting on the rest of my order. I also asked the guy about my small fry he assured me it was inside with the baskets which it wasn’t. Third mistake the 4pc chicken basket literally came with 8-12 fry’s yes 8-12 pcs I wish I was making this up but I’m not. I should have just went to WHAT A BURGER I could have got the same thing with way more fry’s etc. This was by far the worst food experience in my life. Read moreTERRIBLE service and even worse management! If I could give zero stars I would! I did an online order for a custom ice cream cake. Said allow 48 to make. I put in an order and even received confirmation that my order was accepted and processed. I called the day before I was suppose to pick up to ask a question and I was told they never got an order. The manager was an absolute b** and I honestly felt she was amused by this. She kept saying I’m trying to help when she actually was doing NOTHING to help. She was a terrible person, had an attitude and seriously I think she was amused. She is someone Id be ashamed to have in a management spot. She never even apologized! She literally did nothing besides make it worse by being herself and actEd surprised by my being mad and upset(which pretty sure I had a right to be when I thought a birthday cake was being made and only to find out less then 24 hrs before needing it nothings been done) I was happy to be close by to a DQ but after this Ill be choosing another DQ to go to vs this store!
