This place has lost its' soul 100%!!! Nothing like what it used to be in 2015! Been on Hawaiian islands total 14 months 4 times now in my life with the '24 visit. Mainly Big Island, but also visited for 10 days Kauai; 15 days O’ahu and 6 days Maui. So in total by years- (2008 (4mo.); '15/'16 (7mo.) and ‘17 (2mo.). Worked here, studied here, visited friends here/ hence been local and am local! Never felt worse than during my recent visit. What has happened Kauai!? Do you guys always treat tourists like this, because for the first time l'm a tourist here actually. Aloha ‘n Paradise- Hostile staff who won't even manage properly a situation where a customer was frustrated for not finding the right toilet on the street, because the toilets are chemical ones, 3 of them spread around. So no one of the businesses in Hanapepe will let you use their toilet- even after being their customer, but they still sell you coffee and food! Two of the chemical toilets down the road were locked and one of the businesses next to them didn't open them because they apparently were DISGUSTING DUE TO TOURISTS not flushing the water in them (the words of the business’ Jaqueline (as I remember), next to the toilets). And apparently she cleans them as a volunteer, which also is sad as it means the government here is not doing its' job at all. Meanwhile, this particular business and all businesses on the street have their own toilets plus from the place where we bought food and coffee, but they just choose not to give you the right to use it. This is criminal!!! Third chemical toilet (after we finally found it down the road, after the second aggressive explanations of directions from Aloha ‘n Paradise Kauai (the guy working behind the bar shouting at my mom), was open and absolutely disgusting, hence not clean and looked after at all. I guess this is what tourists deserve after all according to Hanapepe businesses!!! The businesses there think that since their government is not providing adequate public toilets- we visitors are the guilty ones!!! Can’t you guys unite and sign a petition to the local authority for building a toilet, instead of explaining us how terrible we are that we want to use one, hence the business who holds the keys for those two locked chemical toilets and Aloha ‘n Paradise hiding their toilet from their own customers! If we are allowed, we will also sign the petition to help you out- hence the SO TERRIBLE TOURISTS! Welp, never visiting Hanapepe on Kauai again!!! Very rude businesses on that road and I advice you do not go there!!! Not sure what has happened to many people on Kauai, but I do not remember this place so hostile and grumpy! When I entered this cafe today and said to the staff that I been to Aloha ‘n Paradise in 2015 and all I had was love for them, I received super generic reaction from them which did make me feel a bit weird. No art on the walls as it used to have. No vibe. No kind staff. Just quick and loud talk to customers. We never understood what was all about with the small and large cappuccino too, due to way too quick and loud talk while explaining. Ah, sorry, we are foreigners!!! Our fault!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve also heard that apparently here are people who do not like foreigners. Well, these people shall not work with customers then! I am a small business myself and never ever communicated on rude way with my clients, no matter what race and nationality they are!!!!!!!! No matter how frustrated they would be sometimes. Most of the times the client is frustrated due to poor communication with the representative of a certain business and this isn’t a fault of the client! I always know that the client is the God. Is the reason why I exist as a small business!!! What Aloha ‘n Paradise and most of these businesses think at Hanapepe is beyond my understanding though as a professional. They just smile to your money, that’s it! So heart broken as in 2015 Aloha ‘n Paradise was super cool (people wise) and now I had to write this review here and unfollow them on Instagram and etc....

Here will find both visitors and locals alike with a cup of coffee in hamd and a huge smile on their faces. The owners Russell and Berenice are very friendly and highly knowledgeable incase you are undecided on what to order. There's always some regulars who hang out either in front or inside helping to add to the friendly and inviting atmosphere. Read moreExcellent espresso based coffee made with the utmost care & detail in mind by a very kind soul who offers a simple blessing of health with every cup to every person she serves. Wow.
When you walk in, it’s a small unassuming art gallery. You’ll soon be greeted by a nice lady asking if you are looking for coffee. She can probably tell by your disoriented, caffeine-deprived face. Lol
Serving Kauai Roastery Espresso which is also based in Waimea. I highly recommend either picking up a bag from Aloha n Paradise or visiting the Roastery. Don’t get it mixed up with the other 3 or 4 similar...
