Stopped in this smaller town to shop on a Monday. Only a few restaurants were open, so we were told Bobbie's was nearby and open
Ordered a Bobbie burger with fries and a teriyaki chicken plate with all green salad. We were told it would take about 20 minutes until we received the order, that it was prepared after it was ordered.
Sat at one of the indoor dining tables, they did have several seats outside along the front of the building.
Cashier brought us our entrees, with napkin and plastic silverware to eat it with.
The burger was just fair and a bit overdone. French fries were a good-sized portion but not very flavorful. My teriyaki chicken was generous in portion size, and it was very hot in temperature. Had a nice amount of teriyaki sauce on it. Green salad had 2 dressing packets with romaine salad and some shredded carrots.
I found that the chicken was difficult to chew, and had fat throughout most of the pieces. I wasn't sure if it was thigh meat or breast? The salad had a lot of brown on the leaves and wasn't very fresh looking... the Ceasar salad dressing helped with this a bit.
Other patrons in the restaurant said that their meals were good, but they had ordered different entrees from ours, which included rice or the mac salad. Maybe we just didn't order Bobbie's specialty entrees that they're known for.
No restrooms are available to use as patrons, and you bus your table when you leave, and place in trash or recycle...
Read moreLet's start off with the food itself, I asked for there signature dish which was the Korean fried chicken, pulled pork and rice. The chickens was like fried mystery meat that was 90% fat and 10% actually meat. The pulled pork was the greasiest and most bland pork I've ever had. The rice was standard and I got the optional salad which had a great dressing which was the only thing that would decent. 1/5
Next the service, it started off okay, I took my order then sat down. But We waited for an hour before our food was out and we didn't order anything crazy there was only 3 of us too. There were no napkins and no bathroom to use either. 1/5
Lastly the atmosphere, it was like walking into a parking garage with some fold out tables and chairs. The place was really gross and would definitely recommend not eating in if you still really want to go here after reading this review. 1/5
Overall this was a trash experience -100000/100000 would...
Read moreBobbie's Restaurant was hands-down the best food we had during our entire stay on Kauai! From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond with their friendliness, even sharing a guide of other great places to eat on the island. Their hospitality made us feel so welcome and added to the incredible experience.
We ordered the Da Surf & Turf and Nakas Numba Nine, and both dishes were absolutely mouthwatering. Every bite was packed with flavor and showcased the amazing quality and care put into their food. It was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had—better than even some of the top 5-star restaurants we’ve visited back home, like Howzit Hawaiian BBQ in Lincoln, NE.
Bobbie's truly set the bar high, and we’re still raving about it. We highly, highly, highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable meal on Kauai. Trust us, you won’t be...
