The coffee was basically hot water. I wouldn't call myself a coffee expert but I have worked at a few coffee shops and have been to many local and major coffee shop chains on the mainland, so I know the difference between a light, medium and dark roast, properly brewed coffee, and old versus fresh coffee. And I can really tell the difference between hot black water and coffee. I tasted two different cups of their "coffee" and both had almost no flavor, imagine hot black water. I told the barista about it and suggested he taste it. He didn't apologize, didn't taste it, or seem to care, but instead offered to add a shot of "espresso". I also asked if it was a light roast because the it had similarities to say Veranda blend. After adding the espresso the "coffee" tasted like a watered down americano, so I'm not even sure their espresso roast is right or maybe their La Marzocco machine isn't set up right. 2 stars because their samoa latte was flavored nicely, but again had no coffee flavor. Oh and those loud generators are annoying. They should be covered by noise reduction measures.
In response the owner: The main gripe I had was that no one seemed to care about our feedback on your product. Did you taste the coffee in your air pot to make sure it wasn't a justified complaint? Did you sample your espresso shots? Maybe my taste buds were off that day. When you experience what I described you realize you just need to cut your losses and keep your travel companions happy. The majority of people leave 4-5 star reviews so unless it's exceptional why add to the fluff. And the hikes on the Na Pali coast,1 star. The...
Read moreReview is much overdue! Stopped by this spot twice when visiting in February. A little bit of a wait each time but so worth it! The shared space concept with the brewery is cool, and everything is hand crafted by staff so it takes a minute to get the good stuff. No worries. Gave an opportunity to have excellent conversation with the staff while they did their thing. I was on crutches during my adventure and Ashlyn and her co-workers were beyond kind in helping me get situated. To the point where I wanted to return a second time before leaving to say thank you again. My first adventure breakfast of a Cold Brew, Americano, Everything bagel w/ tomato basil cream cheese, and Smoked Turkey avocado sandwich were all great. The Smoked Turkey sandwich was easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had and also a driving force in returning. My second breakfast adventure included an Iced Bee Sting Latte, Buzz Acai Bowl and another Turkey & Advocado sandwich for the road. The Buzz Acai Bowl was one of the most beautiful looking, healthy, and refreshing meals I had in Kauai. I feel guilty for not taking a picture of it. Tasty well made drinks, delicious eats, top notch hospitality & excellent conversation. Ashlyn, thank you for being a light in my adventures and showing me the true Aloha Spirit. May the stars shoot you all the wishes & dreams you...
Read moreI rarely do reviews but every time I come here the service is awful. I waited in line for 15 minutes to finally get to the front to order and then waited an additional few minutes while the barista made a few orders. I wasn’t upset about waiting for her to catch up, but I was irritated that after she finished she walked back to the kitchen came back out and said we are done serving food, it was 10:35 they close at 11. Rather than make all of us wait for over 20 to “not” order, management should have informed the line they were done serving. Going forward I’m going to support other local businesses and no longer recommend this establishment to family, friends and clientele. This was my last chance the food and coffee isn’t even that great to give it...
