Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Kennebunk

My family stopped at the Popeyes chicken fast food, at the Kennebunk rest area on the Maine Turnpike on Sunday, February 25th, 2024.

The service was very poor. During a rush, items were not available. The person running the cash register, on a busy day, was out back for long periods of time, and the person taking the orders was rude, and the store looked dirty.

I ran a Wendys for several years as a General manager and I would fire every worker, working that day if I ran that store.

We will not eat at that location again, even through it is one of our most favorite fast foods.

It is very broken. No organization, no one was aware enough to refill items that were out, and some customers just walked over to the burger king, rather than endure the line, and poor customer service.

They forgot to put my wife's beans and rice in the order, after we waited for over 20 minutes. At times no one was at the counter, even though there was a long line of customers.

My wife was inside while I remained in the truck, I saw popeyes had just opened, so I pulled up your website to see the menu and found the listed coupons. I screenshotted the coupons and asked my wife to see if this location took coupons. Well, as my wife did as I asked, she was then screamed at by the Popeyes employee at the counter, named Claudette, about how "WE DO NOT HONOR THOSE WEBSITE COUPONS!". This response was unprovoked, unreasonable, and unprofessional. We do not have Popeyes where we are from, so this employee, Claudette, made a major impact on how we view your franchise, and I will do my best to avoid your locations, so as to not deal with your obviously unhappy employees. We visit this Popeyes location every year and was very disappointed this time. On August 18 we arrived at 10:45 am to find it blocked off. I asked the employee behind the counter what time are they opening and was told 11am (website says 10:30am) but still decided to wait in line. 11:02 rolls around and was informed they will open but no chicken will be ready until 11:30. Shame on the manager because everyone that was in line left. A good manager would have came out and apologize and explained the reason. It could have been equipment failure or a delayed delivery which we would have sympathized and waited but since the manager decided to hide in the back, I will just have to assume he is disorganized. I hope they get it together...
