Ten weeks ago, I left this company a good review because I really enjoyed their food so much that I decided to order again. However, after my second order, I left another review because the food was not good. It wasn’t the same as the first time. The chicken was dry, suggesting it was baked, and it seemed like they ran out of gravy, so they gave me jerk chicken instead of the stew chicken I had ordered, with a side of jerk sauce.
When I left the review, instead of the owner accepting the constructive criticism for what it was, she insisted that my review was fabricated and accused me of trying to tear her business down. I have no intention of ruining anyone’s business; I am simply being completely honest about my experience. I recently ordered from them again, and the food was not good. It seemed like it had been sitting out for a long time, and there was no flavor at all in the meal.
I also mentioned that there are other Jamaican restaurants in the city that make their food look and taste bad in comparison because it lacks flavor, and that’s my honest opinion. Jamaican Jerk House makes your food look and taste like trash. You call yourself a Jamaican restaurant, but just like other Jamaican restaurants in NOLA, your food had no flavor. It’s truly sad what I received the last few times I ordered from you all.
Instead of taking these reviews as an attempt to belittle your restaurant, consider them as constructive criticism and do better, because I promise I am not the only one who feels this way.
The only good thing I can say about this restaurant is that your Patties and coco bread as well as customer service is great and it’s affordable other than that you have...

Jamaican Homestyle Grill is an absolute gem that delivers authentic flavors and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the tantalizing aroma of perfectly seasoned meats and spices that promise a culinary journey straight to the heart of Jamaica.
The menu is a showcase of Jamaican favorites, from tender, flavorful jerk chicken to hearty oxtail that falls off the bone. The portions are generous, and the food is always served fresh and piping hot. The sides, like the creamy mac and cheese, fluffy rice and peas, and sweet plantains, perfectly complement the mains and round out the meal.
What truly sets this place apart is the dedication to quality and authenticity. The flavors are bold and vibrant, with every dish clearly made with care and a touch of love. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel like family from the moment you arrive. They’re happy to recommend dishes and explain the menu if you’re new to Jamaican cuisine.

Read moreThis is my fifth and most likely final Jamaican restaurant in New orleans. I say that because I don't know if another place is going to outperform Jamaican home style grill. The place is located in Kenner about 10 minutes from my home. The interior was very clean and welcoming. It's not fancy, but you're not there for fancy. You're there for good food and a quaint environment to enjoy your food. The young lady who took my order was very polite and answered several questions as best as she could. I always ask servers at a new restaurant what is popular and what is good because the two often aren't the same. It's a great way to establish rapport with your server as well as gauge their level of experience with the cuisine. I decided to order oxtails with plantains and cabbage. It also came with the best brown rice and red beans I've ever had. Whatever spice they are using, it's an absolute knockout. Oxtail is pricey these days, but this restaurant was still on the lower end. I definitely felt like I got a good value for my money. The food was delicious. Oddly enough, their drink selection was better than the other Jamaican places I've tried. Most of them only have a few options. This place had a cooler full of different items. I have nothing bad to say about this place I will 100% absolutely eat here again as soon...
