My wife and I have ordered from the Due West location almost every Friday, monthly for our kids and family parties. Given my loyal following with the company, I was floored that I was given such poor treatment on 7/23/21. It is baffling to me how this company could be so lackadaisical and nonchalant with their customer service. I called the Due West location to order an 18" pepperoni pizza at 7:01pm. I asked them how long the delivery would take compared to pick up. They informed me delivery was about 1hr and pick-up would be about 25-30min. I informed them that, though I normally do delivery, due to the significant time difference, I would pick up my order in 30 min. I arrived at the location at 743pm. I waited patiently and paid up front (~$18 + tip). By 750pm, still no pizza, I asked what the status of my order was. I was informed that my order had not even been started. Someone came from the back and informed me that they would refund me the amount paid and that they would make my order on the house (rushed order in about 10min) due to the delays. I acknowledged the error and told them I would wait. Another 10 min elapsed, still no pizza. During this whole time, I watched a number of individuals come and go, with no issues with their orders. I even witnessed them offer another patron a credit for a delayed order that was actively in the oven, while she waited. I approached another employee and inquired about my order. She began running around looking for the order, only to find out that the order had not been even started. At this point, I asked to speak with the manager, Rachel. She was very dismissive and told me she could offer me a credit, no pizza, all the while my kids and family were waiting for dinner. She did not seem at all interested in retaining my business. I am quite frankly shocked that this is how business is now being run at this location, and will no longer be supporting this...
Read moreI will probably not go back to this place again. Food was good but I had to question my total bill twice. We visited and were excited because they offer gluten free crust. They said the gluten free only comes in their 10" pizza size which is fine and understandable. I look thru their specialty pizza menu and we pick out a specialty pizza for $10.99 and one for $11.99 which should be roughly $23 total before taxes. The cashier says your total is $29.66. I say whoa, where did the extra ~$5 come from. She said you exchanged some of the toppings and chose gluten free. Now, I didn't see on the big overhead menu where gluten free costs extra, maybe I missed it. I asked how much extra is the gluten free. The cashier had to go check with her manager and said the gluten free crust is an extra $2.50 per pizza. I was a tad frustrated that this wasn't better explained on the menu, but I went ahead and paid. While paying I grabbed a menu off the counter to take home. A few mins later our pizzas came out and they were delicious, but 2 10" pizza for 2 adults and 3 small kids wasn't quite enough. I saw on the menu I grabbed that a 10" gluten free cheese pizza was only $7.49. So I decided to go get one more pizza for us. I walk up and order the 10" gluten free cheese. The cashier says your total is $10.06. I say your menu says its $7.49 and I point to it and ask where is the additional $2.50 coming from. She says its $9.49, not $7.49. Since she sees the price difference, she goes to her manager and the manager walks up to the register and says "the prices have gone up and the menu doesn't reflect that." I tell the manager "no thank you. you can cancel the order." Now, I understand prices go up but your menu needs to reflect that price. In my eyes, thats just bad customer service to not honor the price your menu says. I had to question my total...
Read moreFirst order @ PLP, called in for a carryout order. Picked up order on time and pizza was hot! Ordered a half pep half cheese and small garlic cheese sticks. Pizza was huge at 18" for $20 and cheese sticks were a little smaller than I'd like for $8. While a little greasy, I'd definitely order the thin crust large pizza again - reminds me of the $1 slices you can get anywhere in Manhattan. IMHO the cheese sticks tasted better than the pizza itself and they would make a delicious meal for one person without the $20 pizza.
Went back for a second visit, got the BBQ chicken pizza (desperado), it's absolutely fantastic. These pizzas are absolutely huge, a large is massive and a medium is a normal large. The pizza is very fresh tasting. Also, not many pizza parlors have a kids pizza with applesauce and a drink. This is great for the youngins. We love this place! No idea why it's rated lower at a 4.6...
Went back for a 3rd visit, got the medium Hawaiian (Maui waui) and it was good, the Thai chili sauce is excellent, but, there were too many toppings for a thin crust and I feel that I'd you get a one topping pizza, go with thin crust, if you get a specialty pizza, definitely get the regular crust.
Small cheese sticks come with one sauce, medium comes with two sauces and a large comes with three sauces.
For added fun, they offer a heart shaped pizza... Slightly smaller but a...
