My first time eating here. The ''Double Regular Cheeseburgers'' were a little on the small side. I ordered my with catsup and lettuce.I took a big bite and I realized I got the wrong burger with mustard and tomato. I HATE...HATE MUSTARD and I do not eat tomatoes. They made me a new burger. I prefer a better quality ''hard'' melting cheese. I like the grilled onions on the burgers. You have to pay extra for lettuce and/or tomato. The worst part was the outdoor dining experience was the two picnic tables. At my table other diners were having a discussion on what ride ''they throw up on at Six Flags''.As I was trying to ''swallow'' my food with this discussion going on. Then my ''dining experience'' got worse .....an elderly couple came walking with their TWO DOGS. The one dog was gagging and gagging repeatedly and climbed up my leg as I was sitting half turned on the picnic table. The woman with this dog was ordering at the order window and unaware of her dogs actions. These DOG DO NOT BELONG IN A PUBLIC OUTSIDE EATING AREA. '' Alfresco Dining'' DOES NOT make it o.k. to bring you pets. I DO NOT find GAGGING dogs an appetizing dining experience. Big Stat is now closed...HEY .....how many people have told you ....''you close TOO early'' in the season. At one time your employees were college student having to get back to college but this is no longer the case these days. There are plenty of nice autumn days to eat outdoor yet!!! Next season put up a sign in Alfresco Dining(outdoor picnic table) area is for humans not pets. This restaurant is a Drive-In and offers two large outdoor square picnic tables that all customers share or eat in their vehicles if they have arrived to the restaurant...

While Big Star's food and prices are 5 stars all day long; some things could use some improvement. The wait staff is moderate; Instead of having all the young people inside, put them out on the cars, keep them moving! I waited 5 mins before walking up to the counter myself to get my food that i ordered on the phone. The lady that helped the cars around me, went back to the counter and looked at me waving and didnt move. The phone system could use some help too; busy, always put on hold, cant be heard when answered. Big Star is quite the niche, so it can afford to be dated in some regards, but I feel they are pushing it. SO even saying all this, and everyone knowing it, nothing will change! They still do great business, and the Kenosha way is the Kenosha way. dont fix it till it falls apart and you are in financial ruin. Big Star could be afforded some time with this, shutting down in the winter excites the customer base to make sure to do it again when it comes back, and again when it goes away. And I can guarantee I as well will be back atleast once more this 2017 season! Just too darn tasty! Keep up the great food, and hey, maybe put a little money into a decent phone system and process to handle the calls? I bet you could even find a web developer for a minor investment that could offer you web presence and potentially ordering? a step into the 21st century could do big...

Since moving to Kenosha, Big Star drive-in has been one of my new favorite additions to my diet. Only open March 1st to August 31st, I need a petition to keep it open at least until October 31st. The double cheeseburger is one of my favorites I have ever had. It’s small, but packs a punch in flavor. One bite and you are loaded with some melty cheese, two seasoned patties, ketchup and tiny pieces of onion. The cheese curds are so good too. Their root beer is delicious and refreshing. Hubby gets the fish fry which was crispy and delicious. Comes with fries and coleslaw which he enjoys. I also occasionally get a chocolate malt which always soothes my malt cravings. Prices are cheap. They only take cash and the waitresses are always super sweet. I come at least once a month.

Big star is a classic Kenosha joint that will satisfy any hungry little league team after a long tournament. The vintage drive up style is perfect for a pickup truck full of kids on a summer night. The food is pretty good, but the reason you’ll return is for the prices. Honestly, I think this was a mediocre burger and the curds tasted like the fryer was used for seafood right before they dropped our curds, but I will still come back because it was just so cheap!! Do yourself and your wallet a favor and stop in for a cheeseburger and a coke.
