Was hearing great things from the new restaurant that took over TGs, and wanted to try it. The place was very busy. Which we expected for Fish Fry in Wisconsin. To start on the only positive, the renovations look great from old TGs. After a few moments of waiting by the door, we asked other customers waiting if there was a waiting list. They pointed to the hostess in the back of the bar. We got our name on the list with a wait of a 20min (totally acceptable), went to the bar to grab a beer while we waited. Got seated in about 10minutes, and then sat at the table. We made the obligatory post on Facebook about trying the new place, but they were too new to tag. Two tables were then sat shortly after us. After about 15minutes (using the time the fb post was made as the clock), neither of the three tables were acknowledged of being sat. One table grabbed their own drinks from the bar. We continued waiting with the other table, watching the servers running to tables sat after us. We understood being busy, and waited still. We watched the servers running back and forth to the same tables who either already had food to ask if there’s anything they need, and checks or refills were brought them. Servers seemed to have tunnel vision for the few lucky tables closest to door or kitchen. Eventually, the table that had ordered their own drinks from the bar, went back to the bartender to order, and the bartender, who kept talking about slammed they were, took their order. We still waited. After 30minutes of waiting without a server or any coming by and beer glasses now sitting empty at the edge of the tables on the menus, we decided to leave. Upon leaving, we went the hostess who sat us, and told her we had not been even acknowledged that we were sat, and she kind of blew off the issue. There was no addressing the issue, apology or general accountability for the lack of service. I tend to give restaurants a second chance, but I don’t think it deserves it. Wisconsin is filled bars with delicious food and we never got to try Finn and Ale and probably never will. Wish I could put N/A for food...

I think I hit the sweet spot just missing the rush. That being said, the food was fantastic. It also came quick. I had a couple of Miller high life's, a Coke, a patty melt, coleslaw, and I was full. My wife had the shrimp, lightly breaded, a side salad, some coleslaw, and a pink lemonade.
The layout is fantastic. Plenty of screens above the bar. Pretty much any type of event will be on. There is also a screen in the back above the jukebox, and one on the other wall. The bathrooms were spotless. And of course, you can see the kitchen, that was spotless also. This is a desirable destination. A place where you can chill, grab a bite of something really good, and have some hopefully intellectual🧠 conversation. In this day and age, that's kind of a rare thing. Stop in, you won't be disappointed, as you can see by my reviews, I wouldn't lie to you!...
Read moreNo wait to be seated on a Friday at 5:30..... beautiful renovations! After seating, took about 10 min for drinks, but that was ok. Offered to order food at same time to make our table turn quicker, but server said no. Food was excellent. Burger, perch, and salmon all were absolutely excellent. No Cajun option on salmon yet, but assured it's coming. I didn't like all the people waiting for tables all around us as we ate in the rear also they were blocking slot machines so...... Upon bill presentation, we noticed overcharges totalling 40.00..... which the server did fix after we addressed it. They do not take cards, which would have been nice to know ahead of time, thankfully... there's an ATM but still... parking is rare, I parked on the corner at the closed salon. Overall, good food and...
