We ordered several entrees to sample different styles. Overall, we enjoyed the dinner. It's important to note that if you order mild that means no spice at all. That rendered some dishes less impressive than others. We started with samosas- beautiful to look at but a very bland filling that could have used more chilies and, frankly, more filling. As is often the case, the wrap was crispy but a bit too thick.
Two veggie dishes were aloo matar- just okay and needed salt- and daal makhani-a delicious mix of black lentils and other legumes.
Main dishes were tandoori chicken - very juicy and lovely, a surprise as many places serve this dish way overcooked. Then butter chicken - Rich and lovely- a beef curry - tender beef pieces in a standard curry sauce- saag paneer-perfect paneer pieces in a delicious spinach sauce. We ordered this one medium and it was just right. Then, lamb korma. It was a wonderful, sweet sauce with beautiful, tender lamb pieces. All in all, the meat curries were quite good but we will order medium spice for everything from now on.
The only thing we will pass on in the future was the naan bread. They do use a tandoor, I believe, but it was gray, soggy, and unappetizing. I'm not sure how naan can go wrong but it did. We will pass on this in the future or get frozen from the market, which is much better.
I'm glad that Kenosha now has this option for Indian food. I would encourage anyone to give it a try just taking into account the things mentioned above. It isn't fine dining and no South Indian dishes seem to be offered. Overall, we will order again when we need that curry fix and don't want to travel to Milwaukee or...
Read moreTried Curry King Kitchen for the first time. I did not realize there was an Indian restaurant in Kenosha. I ordered a large order with over a dozen separate items. The owner, Singh was phenomenal. Very professional and helpful explaining my order and giving me his thoughts on the various dishes he recommended. I just tried the Indian food I ordered. It was neatly packaged and labeled. Unlike other Indian restaurants I ordered carry outs, Singh labeled every dish accordingly and separated the shrimp dish and the vegetarian in separate bags. Food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend and will definitely go back again within. The next week. Highly recommend 5...
