The Checkpoint — Restaurant in Kenosha

The Checkpoint is a superb addition to Kenosha. Upon walking inside, you're transported into a comfortable, friendly, fun game-filled and nerdtastic environment. There are a solid selection of arcade and other games, along with a very healthy selection of board, card and other similar games.

You can tell there has been a lot of thought put into the design and decorations, from the different movie, game and TV show memorabilia (e.g., Planet Express Sign, This is the Way sign), to the cool hand painted bar map of Middle Earth and the handcrafted drink holders next to the games.

The owner is super friendly and easy going, and it's clear there are plans to continue to invest in the design / experience aesthetic of Checkpoint, along with continued events. Definitely exceeded my expectations, and cannot wait visit again to see how Checkpoint continues to...

Be warned about your checks! I had gone in with a few friends to start the night as their sober driver to find out my friends were getting drinks added to their tab without knowing! (it was completely empty so it wasn't someone else in the bar) what should have been about 27 dollars was 50 bucks! I made him go back and complain and the bar tender had added 2 drinks to the tab. this could have been a very easy thing to explain away if it was packed but we were the only people there it doesn't make sense. just watch...

This place is our go to spot! Food and drinks are well priced and the atmosphere is amazing. April and Milton are good stuff! April always has a good vibe to have around the bar and is super personable. I actually thought I lost my wallet here once and I left a voicemail. Milton reached out to me the next morning by 8AM and checked the camera feed for me! This place clearly cares about their customers and is probably one of the most underrated...
