I'm giving these folks the benefit of the doubt to go as high as two stars. I don't do national chains with fast food very often. But my wife has eaten at this particular Bob Evans a few times with her folks and they liked it. So we got together with them, my Daughter, and her little one, and gave it a try. First we stood in the entry way for a solid five minutes without being recognized that we were there, so my daughter walked over to the counter where the gal was doing things, and asked her should seat our selves or should we wait to be seated? She replied that somebody would be over to seat us. We stood for another five minutes, still without being recognized and watched while five different parties paid their bill at the cash register walked around us and left, meanwhile, the gal at the cash register still did not acknowledge us. Then she walked away did a few things at the back, and then came back and asked how many in our party, we told her 6, 5 adults and an 11 month old, and she turned around and walked away. She cleaned a table and came back to get us, and we were seated with menus. And then we waited, and waited, and waited. Meanwhile another party of 4 came in and was seated behind us. That Waitress took their beverage order, brought them the beverages, came back and took their food order, we kept waiting.
Including us, and the party in back of us, there were 4 total tables that were seated in the place. Eventually our Waitress came and took the drink order, we told her we were ready to order food at the same time and she said she'd be back with our drinks first and walked away. She delivered the drinks timely, and then said something discernible and she walked away again! 5 minutes later she came back, and while she was taking our order, the food came out for the table of 4 in back of us.
I ordered the "Sunshine Skillett" and asked her to hold the Gravy and the Cheese, trying to make it reasonably healthy, my Wife ordered the Multigrain Pancakes, and asked for a breadbasket for us.
The waitress came back with a breadbasket, and five plates.
We finished the bread, and waited. The waitress came by 3 times, never removed the used bread plates from our table.
The foursome that came in after us finished their meal, paid the bill and left.
A waitress came back and cleared the table in back of us, and did not pick up our bread plates. I stood. up and put them on a dirty table that was still uncleared from a customer who had left prior to our arrival.
It took a solid 20 minutes for the meal to come. By now I looked at the clock and realized we'd been in the restaurant for over an hour, and were the only ones left in the place, (it was 7pm on a week night).
Regarding the food, I cannot comprehend just how one can cook eggs, with sausage and home fries and have them come out dry, and porous! I guess they depend on the Cheese and Gravy to mask the quality of the egg mix. When my wife cut into her stack of pancakes, raw batter ran out. I am not indicating that they were mushy, they actually had a liquid center that ran out and pooled up in her plate! We sent them back and they replaced them, but of course, by the time she got them, everyone else had finished their meal.
One member of out party had Coleslaw as a side, we passed it around the table, and none of us could eat it, and we love 'Slaw. But I guess it is possible for it to be a personal thing, some must like it, but I found it unpalatable.
So that was my experience, at 6PM in a weeknight in a fast food restaurant that had 4 to 5 active tables out of about 35, they ought to be able to do a lot better. I gave them a generous two stars, because two of the four meals ordered were as expected. Not likely to try that...

That was fine, easy fix. Order was ready in twenty minutes. Walked in the side door to pick up. Greeted curtly by frazzled cashier. Two families were waiting to be seated with a half empty dining room. Cashed me out first... wish I had waited because I tipped before I knew of the problems... lol. The cashier was in a hurry and handed the paper bag to me. I inspected and found cold open salad boxes, cold coconut cream pie and dressing, packed with hot food... buttermilk ranch packets on the bottom beside the tiny pot pie. Spilled green bean juice all over the bottom. Cashier removed everything and replaced bag. I set our cold items to the side for a separate bag. NO napkins, condiments, or silverware included... had to ask and she seemed very irritated to oblige. Upon leaving, no "sorry, thank you, come again, have a nice day"..NOTHING. Upon opening my entree, it had been handled so hurriedly, sauce had leaked out everywhere. Ugly burnt chicken and burnt potatoes... by the time I removed the burnt part, there was about seven pieces left... see pictures. Husbands entree... tiny little pitiful pot pie... included fork in picture for portion size comparison... see pictures.. Won't...
Read moreWe arrived at around 7:30 pm and there was 16 other customers there at the time and 6 customers there when we left. I ordered the $7.99 portion of the turkey and dressing dinner and added the $3.99 (soup or salad and dessert). I received 2 slices of turkey, 2 scoops of dressing, a Lg scoop of mashed potatoes with gravy and a small container of whole cranberry sauce, I wanted the potato soup, but they were out of it so I got the salad ( which I was impressed that it didn't have to be cut up in smaller pieces like I most usually have to do at other restaurants), I also had 2 yeast rolls with butter and there was a Lg selection of desserts, which I got the traditional pumpkin pie. All was delicious. My husband ordered the county fried steak and eggs with hash browns. He ordered his eggs over medium and part of the white wasn't cooked, which isn't unusual, but he didn't send them back like he most usually does, so I guess he was ok with it. He had a Lg portion of country fried steak with white country gravy and a Lg portion of hash browns. He ate all of his meal and I brought 1/2 of mine home, was too much for me to eat at one setting. We were well satisfied. The hosted, waitress and check out ladies were friendly, attentive and helpful. I would recommend this Bob Evans restaurant to anyone out there to go dine. Pricing was reasonable for this day and...
