If I could give it negative stars I probably would. Let’s start with they only do buffet on Sunday, well ok I’m game, but my wife asked for the chicken salad plate, with fruit, cheese and muffin as advertised while walking in. It took 15 minutes for them after, I finished my first buffet plate, to take an ice cream scoop to a bucket of chicken salad, through it on a plate and garnish it with soggy fruit chunks and two half pieces of individually wrapped cheese slice by some other entity that’s cheaper than kraft. And that microwaved muffin oh man Otis spunkmeyer would be proud. Now on to the buffet which looks like it could serve a whole party of 8 in an entire restaurant. The potatoes were great and so were the beets. The chicken, while it looked enticing and had decent crispy flavorless breading, was so dry I had to choke it down with an entire glass of unsweetened tea. The Mac and cheese was less value than that of the substance they tried to pass off as the same in early grade school, it was gritty as if mixed with grits to add weight to it. I also do feel like working the floor of a restaurant and wearing flip flops is a great idea but there they were squeaking along as If someone’s dog got loose with a chew toy. The ambiance of the place was exciting, dusty deerheads and used duck decoys lit up the room as if it were screaming please put us on a reality show about rednecks, I am a redneck and thought it was too much. Also please don’t put storage where you can see clutter over the loft of the bathrooms just ready to fall, it’s tacky.
I’m a lil upset with the place, would...
Read moreTraveling thru the area and stopped for lunch at recommendation of a local. Server recommended the buffet. It was not to my tastes at all. Standard salad bar, no Cole slaw but an Italian pasta salad. All premade salad dressings. Fried chicken tenders are not for me but they seemed popular with the few other diners that were there. The other main offered was meatloaf. Ugh. It tasted like ground beef mixed w sour tomato paste and baked. No onion, pepper, seasoning - just beef and sour tomato taste. Green beans were out of a can and again - no seasoning just heated and put on the steam table. Mashed potatoes the only saving Grace as they were hand made. I was excited about tomato dumplings but again very disappointed. The flavor was off putting. I think they just emptied a can of mexican seasoned tomatoes and tossed stale biscuits in. Commercials rolls had been on steam table too long and were inedible. The absolute best thing about this place was a very sweet and kind server. Can’t say much for personality of the gentleman at the cash register. Don’t know if I would try again - based on other reviews maybe...
Read moreMy family's meals looked decent enough and had moderately sized proportions, but I ordered the roast beef. Having ordered roast beef dinners in many other restaurants and after reading the menu description, I expected a few slices of roasted beef along with the sides I had ordered. What I received, however, was a roast beef Manhattan that was mostly soggy bread and what was obviously cheap canned gravy. The "roast beef" was actually just boiled, tasteless beef in a tiny portion sandwiched between 2 thick slices of bread. To make matters worse my food was cold and served a good 15 minutes before everyone else's. My family also doesn't eat any type of pork due to a strict biblical diet and made that known when ordering, and the green beans had a huge piece of swine on top. There is nothing in the description that the side would contain pork. Very unhappy with the low quality and overpriced food and won't be back. The waitress was very polite and professional so no complaints regarding the staff aside from the cook (though whoever cooked mine probably had been...
