I've been watching many of my friends stop in for MONTHS now on social media, and finally had an invitation to join someone for coffee that left me no more excuses - it was time to go!
Side note: I used to play volleyball in a Southland Christian Church league with the owners, Web and Alison, who were great athletes and human beings, so I knew any business venture with them at the helm would be equally stellar.
Our coffee date lived up to my every expectation! The space is SPRAWLING, with two distinct rooms to either spread out with a large party or cozy up in a quiet corner, plus a decently-sized bar with several seats. The girls working knew my friend (she's a regular), and made pleasant conversation with her while we ordered and on our way out. There are a couple areas with gifts and knickknacks that I will definitely peruse during my next visit - there are a lot more coffee and eats to try! For my inaugural trip I opted for a drink from the specials menu, a Maple Vanilla Latte. By the way, major props to whoever made the 'coffee offerings' graphic, because I am admittedly the least educated coffee orderer ever, never knowing what's in what or what something is. Very helpful! I'm intrigued by the food menu and can see myself wandering in for brunch and a cocktail next...
Great addition to south Lexington! Or technically, north...
Read moreThis is a fun place for kids. There’s an outdoor butterfly garden in the summer and they have an indoor cage of caterpillars and butterflies/moths in various stages of development. My grandson loves to go there. They also have some great toys and merchandise. Atmosphere is fairly quiet and tables are spaced well enough you can talk. Service was good. I got the salmon salad and it was awful both times I ordered it. (Was hoping it would be better the second time, and with my gluten free diet it was one of only a couple options.) The first time the salmon looked like it had been pre-cooked and microwaved. It was tough and tasteless. When we went today it looked like slices cut off a cold congealed loaf. It tasted stale and unappetizing. (I normally love salmon.) The salad was mostly kale with a small amount of other things on top. I think they need to drop or rework this menu item. The coffee was just ok. I’ll go back but next time I think I won’t order food. The women’s bathroom was also very dirty and looked like it wasn’t being well cleaned on a...
Read moreMy friend and I went here for the first time today. It is in a nice area. The area seems like it is up and coming. There’s a lot of new buildings and businesses. There is plenty of parking. It is free. It is very clean. Once you walk in you grab a menu and order at the bar. There is an area to purchase things, such as books, cards, mugs, etc. There is plenty of seating. There is also outdoor seating. We both ordered the cinnamon roll waffle. It was delicious. I got an iced vanilla latte and my friend got a coffee. We shared a charcuterie board. Everything we had was delicious. The staff were very friendly and our food and drinks arrived quickly. They do have live butterflies but they weren’t there today. They told us it will probably be a couple of weeks before they have them. There is a greenhouse area to explore around back but we ran out of time and didn’t get to explore it. We will definitely be back though. I highly recommend. Overall, it is super cute and the food/drinks are phenomenal. We can’t wait to go back to see the...
