Mill Springs Pizza Express — Restaurant in Kentucky

My wife and are visiting on Vacation, we walked in at 8 pm an hour before they closed, and wow. Some locals had mentioned that we should try it, so we did, super disappointed.

They need an adult on the clock supervising the children is what I think it comes down to. Every employee was busy doing other things, no one was smiling, our food took over 30 minutes. Didnt come with the sauce we asked for at the beginning, had to repay to get the sauce because they "Didn't write it down"

However, the worst part. They were cleaning the lobby the entire time we were there waiting, no one was cooking our food, because EVERYONE WAS CLEANING, I guess to leave sooner. It went so far as they were SWEEPING UNDER THE TABLE WE WERE SITTING AT! It even brushed my shoe a couple times, as we waited 30 minutes. Every employee came out from the back, and none of them smiled, they were all cleaning up, as we wait for our food.

Terrible experience, maybe you get treated better as a local, or maybe it was just because it was a bunch of children and no adults babysitting them. Super disappointed. I’ve been a loyal customer for over 10 years because the food here is usually excellent, which is why I keep coming back. This has always been one of the few places where I never feel the need to check my takeout order before leaving because it’s always been right. Unfortunately, that changed today.

I called in a simple order for a pizza, and when I got home, I discovered it was burnt to a crisp and tasted awful. Honestly, it shouldn’t have ever been sent out in that condition.

I’m not someone who typically complains, and I genuinely try to support small businesses. Still, I called to let them know, hoping for a solution. The employee who answered told me I’d have to bring the pizza back so they could see it and decide whether to replace it.

But I had already made it home and was ready to relax and enjoy the holiday—not make another trip back to Mill Springs Pizza. I chose takeout specifically to avoid the hassle of cooking or going back out.

Since moving to Somerset in 2021, I’ve been to Mill Springs Pizza Express several times, and each visit has been fantastic!

Although I live near the Oak Hill area and have to drive about 15 minutes to pick up my pizza, it’s absolutely worth the trip. The pizza is always fresh, hot, and packed with delicious flavor.

The service here is consistently excellent. I’ve never had an issue with my order—no wrong toppings, incorrect sizes, or long wait times. Every pizza has been perfect, with friendly staff making the experience even better.

The atmosphere adds charm to the visit. The antique photos on the walls are a unique touch that I enjoy every time.
