"The Rex" in Nancy, Kentucky, is a true local gem for anyone craving authentic home cooking. It’s like stepping into grandma's kitchen, with a menu full of made-from-scratch favorites. They are famous for their country-style dishes like fried catfish, chicken and dumplings, and savory meatloaf, all served with a side of genuine Southern hospitality. No meal at The Rex is complete without dessert. Their homemade cream pies are the star of the show, made fresh every day in their own pie shop. Whether you're there for a hearty lunch or just stopping in for a slice of pie and coffee, "The Rex" delivers a delicious and comforting experience that feels just like home.

The food wasn’t the best. Our fries seemed like they had been out for a while. They cover a lot of their food with a nacho cheese that really is bland. I think they have the right idea going, but the food looks way better than what it tastes. The customer service also has areas for improvement. For the quality of the food, we thought it was very expensive. Our home cooked meals are better than the restaurant. Restrooms were not the cleanest. We did like the style of the inside of their restaurant. And the pictures of the dog Rex was cute.

This place was the bomb. As soon as we walked in they called for a party of two and we were quickly taken to our table. It wasn't packed when we got there but after we were seated it began to fill up quick. I picked the roast beef Manhattan with green beans and the Mrs tried the catfish dinner. They were both so good. We thought about dessert but decided to try that on the next visit. If you go arrive early cause it fills up quick!!

Well let's just say that the place was a funeral home before a restaurant, I told my self I wouldn't go because I'd walk out dead, unfortunately 3rd day opened kids wanted milkshakes, so me and my daughter go and picked up everyone a milkshake, 3 peanut butter milk shakes and one kid's cup, after drinking the milk shakes not even 2 minutes later we all got sicker than a dog, I personally don't have a issue with the people that are working there, but I do have a problem being served something that made us sick and waisted money I didn't have to waist, no more eating @ rex restaurant in Nancy Kentucky , won't do no good to talk to owner they act stuck up because they have more money than they know what to do with, sorry rex I even saved ur dog one day from being hit in the DG parking lot and this is the thanks I get, I hope you can stay in business long enough to recoup the money you waisted on place, now I'm just watching people dieing...

If you're looking for good, downhome country cooking, drive out to Nancy and check this place out. Hubby and I had lunch there today and we loved it. He had the pork tenderloin, coleslaw and a baked potato. I had the meatloaf, green beans and macaroni and tomatoes. Neither of us cared for the slaw but it sure seems to be popular with everyone else. I have to mention, this is the only restaurant I have ever been to that does macaroni and tomatoes right, and we eat out a lot. It's one of my go-to comfort foods from childhood and this was just as good as my momma used to make. I might get a big order to go next time. I can't speak for the dessert we brought home yet (cherry cobbler today) since we were still too full when we got home, but it looks really good. They also have a lot of different pies. Next visit I'll let you know how good their...

The staff was welcoming and the waitress was very attentive. The place was clean and the dining room was fine. The food was quite a disappointment. I got a vegetable plate, hoping for some good country cooking, but it was not good. Canned green beans, plain macaroni shells with velveeta poured on the top, fried taters were oil soaked and flavorless, and deviled eggs that tasted like they were picked up from Kroger. My mother got chili and a grilled cheese. The grilled cheese was not melted, and would have fallen out of the bread if she wasn’t holding it together. The chili looked like ground beef with a can of tomatoes poured in. We drove from Eubank to try it after seeing an ad on Facebook, and I’m sorry to say that a 14 year old could have prepared what we ate. Not restaurant...
