The Grill at Maywood — Restaurant in Kentucky

Stopped by The Grill at Maywood chasing a juicy burger and a little midday happiness. Instead, I got a burger so dry I’m pretty sure it came with a side of tumbleweeds. I’ve had granola with more moisture.

But hey—credit where it’s due—the Hot Brown was a banger. Creamy, savory, and clearly made by someone who still believes in flavor. It was the only thing on the plate not actively giving up on life.

My girlfriend and I had gone to Jim Beam distillery, for a tour of bourbon. That was an awesome tour! We were hungry and wanted to go eat somewhere in Bardstown. One great burger place in the middle of town was closed on Sunday so we were looking for another place and found the grill at Maywood. When we pulled up were you realized it was on the golf course. It was like a little country club where they had golf. They had a nice pool and we went into the grill. It was very nice and welcoming. My sister & i had a late lunch at 2:30pn there. I called 1st & they were very accommodating. We both ordered Ruben sandwiches 1 with fries & Sea Salt the other with coleslaw. The sandwiches were deliciously stacked with corned beef, lots of cheese & sauerkraut with sauce on marbled rye. What a sandwich! I was very impressed with the vinegar coleslaw!
