The New Kersey Inn is the quintessential small town diner with fantastic food, very friendly servers, a salad bar that beats any other that I've found within 30 miles,... this is our go-to place when we want a hot meal, a cold drink, and pleasant atmosphere. The locals are open and welcoming, (and I defy you to find any time during business hours that there aren't at least one or two present), and anything you might wonder about regarding local activities or history, they can usually answer. The food ranges from burgers and fries, to hot roast beef sandwiches, shrimp baskets ( hubby's favorite), chicken fried steak, the ever popular surf and turf, and... Yep, Rocky Mountain Oysters! (For those who enjoy them, NKI has to be visited, because they do 'em right, here!) They also usually have a steak special available, and a daily off menu special, too. There's a full bar so happy hour is another option. The beer specials are usually pretty good. I can't speak for the frou-frou drinks, though, as I don't much care for them. During warm weather, you can have your meal outdoors, as they have a large patio with tables. It's probably the most popular spot in the whole town during the summer! Parking can be a problem, as there are only a few spaces at the NKI, but there is a large dirt lot only a few feet away, next to their neighbor, Wagon Wheel liquor. It fills up quickly some nights, especially when an important game is broadcast, but most nights it's adequate for the needs. Overall, I recommend this establishment for good food small-town style and comfortable...
Read moreI have visited this place many a times over this past 3 weeks with some co workers because we are in area, after several of my bills being much larger than the other gentleman at my table I asked the bartender "how come my tab is way more than everyone else for the same food and drinks" she replied "I thought you were getting everyone's drinks", I said I didn't ask for her to do that and she said okay I just thought that's how you guys did it, she didn't bother to do anything else not even appologise, so I blew it off until about 10 min later another gentleman at the bar came to my table and asked "which one of you is Tommy" I said I am, he replied politely that I need to be nice to the lady behind the counter, not only did she give my name out to another person in the bar but I'm pretty sure she was trying to instigate something that I know I didn't act unprofessional about or towards her, in fact I didn't throw a fit I simply blew it off and decided I would just state that I'm not going to be paying for anyone else's items except my own, I won't be returning due to the fact that she could have made that situation much worse and shouldn't be telling other people's names to start...
Read moreWanted to get out of town for dinner and have heard amazing things about this place and decided to try it. The atmosphere was great. Definitely small town and laid back. It was perfect after a stressful day at work. Their menu is definitely small town, almost southern, kind of diner food. They have traditional options and a few options of their unique creations. The cheese curds were good and so was the chicken sandwich I got, but the fries seem to be generic frozen fries, not your typical restaurant fries. They were the only letdown of the meal. Dessert was peanut butter pie and, let me tell you, it was amazing. So silky and smooth and amazing flavor. I was in heaven. The staff was pretty good. They seemed a little bit in their own world and were a little inattentive but not totally. They paid attention, you just had to maybe direct them more than typical wait staff. . They were very sweet though. Prices were very reasonable at about $12 a plate and appetizers around $5 and the pie was only about $4. Overall, fantastic experience and am looking forward to...
