Sunset Lounge Bar & Grill - Military Base — Restaurant in Key West

Update: Two stars is for Hideaway Grille. It’s gone down hill. Here in October and the shrimp is terrible!! Soggy fries. They aren’t even serving the food on the website… dang. Make a Hideawy Grille Google page so Sunset Lounge can keep its 5 star review. They aren’t even serving the steak or nice burgers anymore apparently. Must be all from a freezer. Sunset Lounge doesn’t serve the original food I posted about. They now have Hideaway Grill in the kitchen of Sunset and they make different food. In the beginning the menu was pretty nice but now it’s just a train wreck. Come here for the Sunset Lounge part and have drinks on the water. I would skip the food until they figure out how to change things up for the better.

We come here every year. We normally have a good experience but this time I'm just irritated at the stupidity. This place is an outdoor place. It's normally a nice relaxed place. We came here a week ago and had an okay experience. This time we were asked to put on masks to walk literally ten steps to our table. Not only that but they asked to see our military ID when we're already on a military base. I had 4 masks on me with 6 ppl. I asked if 4 of us could walk that 10 steps and I could pass the other 2 masks. Nope. They made me walk a mile back to get more masks. The food is still fine. I would come here for the experience, not the food, but now I don't care...

We were driving around and trying to find the perfect Sunset in the Keys! Hands down we hit the jackpot! You felt safe immediately & the island is amazing! The Food and Bar Beverages are separate. You walk up to bar and order drinks and run a tab if you would like. Food is the same fashion. Order across the dining area outdoors and the folks will bring to you. We went with the Smoked Fish Dip and the Sweet Potato fries! Started off with the Best Key Lime Pie! Hidden Gem to look for! We witnessed the most excited lil Trivia coordinator! Good times! Great photo ops!...
