If you want to go to a restaurant to meet the most wonderful people this is the place to go . My husband and I tried this place tonight for the first time . Walking in the smell was amazing. The man who cooks and owned the restaurant is a very nice man . The kind that makes you want to return . My husband ordered the stuffed cabbage and I ordered the Chateaubriand . The stuffed cabbage had amazing flavors that made you smile instantly . The other dish lacked flavor though presentation wise it was pretty . I wanted to like it but when I left the restaurant I had no flavors on my tastebuds . I did bite into a garlic clove and that was nice but one bite was all I got . Though the dish didn’t have all the spices and herbs or flavors I look for the people behind it made it worth it . I would like to also say we waited awhile which I didn’t care about for good food . Just we were served a dish we ordered last because we weren’t their regulars . This was disappointing because I felt I was beneath the other customers and my welcome seemed erased at that point . Not a good way to make good customers I would say . Now the food is homemade so I give them a A+ just for that ! I hate instant foods. I could honestly say I don’t know if I would return because I am a paying customer and being treated as a second class customer seems like a slap in the face . I get your regulars are there but I was there waiting for the same dish ten minutes before one and twenty minutes before your second fav customer came . So though you may get some Great food here don’t expect to be treated equal . If this had not happened I would of been a regular customer but customer service is my number one deal breaker . I wish them luck and hope they start treating all equally . I did however give them more stars then I normally would because they were nice and the stuffed cabbage was great . Being served as number 3 when I was first was not cool and made me not want to return . Guess I’m under the motto first come first served . So if your hungry and a favorite customer comes expect a longer wait time ....

I spent a lot of time overseas while I was in the military and walking into this place brought back so many good memories. It's decorated just like the small restaurants you would encounter in Germany or any other European country. The husband was in another room hand making sausage and his wife was working behind the counter. Very friendly people! You can smell the spices when you walk in the door....Ahhhh!!!

I ordered the stuffed cabbage rolls and my wife ordered the stuffed bell pepper. It came out very quickly. All I can say about the food is....wow. So good! The mashed potatoes were real potatoes, not the instant kind you get at restaurants from food chains. The cabbage rolls were perfectly cooked and tasted like anything you get in a side street European restaurant. It was the perfect blend of spices. The bread was warm and soft, and slightly sweet.

They do serve on paper plates and give plastic utensils....in my food euphoria, I broke my fork....lol. But, it's only the husband and wife working there. I think it adds to the ambience of the restaurant!!

We will definitely be back!! I give it a solid 5, or higher if I...

First time eating Hungarian food and overall it was really good. I've probably driven past this place a hundred times and just never noticed it.

What I liked Food was obviously fresh and homemade. You can tell they put pride in the food they put out. Everything was well seasoned. Very friendly people Very fast service

What could be better I looked at the menu online before coming and most of the things I saw that I wanted to try they didn't have today including something the menu said they have Wednesday through Saturday. A few more options on the menu would be nice. I really wish they had fountain drinks.

Price seemed on the high end for lunch but the quality was definitely there. Saw reviews complaining about the paper plates and plastic utensils but that really wasn't an issue for me. I think if there were a few more options I would have found something better suited for lunch for me personally. Perhaps if they posted on their website or online somewhere what they were offering menu wise that was accurate that would be a big plus.

Overall though you should try...

Was really happy to find this joint while in town. The owner was super friendly and even had time to sit down and chat with us for a while. We enjoyed the food and the family atmosphere. They had a community jigsaw puzzle on one table, books and magazines for people to read, over all very family oriented. We will visit again when in the area! **UPDATE** We were attending the Kilgore Oktoberfest downtown and was excited to see Brigitta's set up. We opted out of the other lines to go straight to where we knew the food was good. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. They only took cash, so we walked 4 blocks to the ATM, paid the $5 total fee to remove cash, walked back and stood in line a second time. Ordered the sausage and a chicken schnitzel sandwich and paid almost $20. The sausage was ok, but wasn't hot, it came with a bun and mustard. The sandwich was literally a frozen chicken patty that had been heated up. It came with a bun and you put your own condiments on it. I'm glad we went to the restaurant in town first, because had this been our first visit, we never would've tried the other one.

My wife and I have past this restaurant frequently over the past 3 years when traveling. Well today. We tried it. But we arrived at 1 p.m. They have been open for 6 years. They have gone from being open daily to being open on Friday and Saturday. So today we almost missed their lunch. They are making another schedule change, so please call ahead. They will be open for dinner on Friday and all day Saturday for lunch and dinner. It is an amazing experience. You will find lots of displays and wall decorations that are all related to Hungary, 🇭🇺 a country in Eastern European. I noticed they have books and toys for young children. And lots of books and magazines in Hungarian language. The menu is on a board at the front desk where you order and pay for your meal. The items on the menu change frequently... so call head if you have a favorite 😍. You simply found your own table. And I suggest you look around. I did... My wife told me they were going to change from paper plates and bowls and plastic 🍴 knives and forks to real ones next month. I was not at the table when the drinks arrived.
