Burrito Shop — Restaurant in Kilgore

I ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo, jalapeños, potatoes, egg, and cheese. There was about a half a tablespoon of beans at just one end of the burrito. The chorizo had no flavor and when I say no flavor, I had to add what this place calls hot sauce (basically tomato sauce) to my meal to have any flavor. Even the jalapeños were bland. The waitress needs to be working in another field, maybe at a register at a gas station. There was a really nice man with his son. Several others came in after. She was taken the others orders as the man and his son patiently waited. The young boy started acting like he was eating. Another employee finally came out of the back to bring food to another table. The man finally spoke up (after about 15-20 minutes) and asked if someone was going to take their order. If someone knows of another place to have breakfast in kilgore, please share. I come to kilgore e every 3 weeks to get my nails done. I don't eat McDonald's, burger king, or any of that....

I called to make a to-go order. The woman who answered asked if I could hold for a moment, and I naturally obliged. After holding for 20 minutes, I simply drove there while still on hold. When I got there and finally got to the counter, I informed the woman at the cashier station that I needed to make a call in order but I was still on hold. She wasn't concerned with the poor customer service over the phone, and stated I'd made the right decision to come in and order. She asked me what I wanted to order, I paid, promptly got my food, and left. The machacas I ordered were bland, as we're the potatoes. The paste they tried to pass as refried beans had an aluminum taste. The tortillas were good, as was the hot sauce. As a result of the bland overall meal and the terrible service, I can't give this place anything more...

I hate to leave a mediocre review, maybe we just caught them on an off day...after all the hype around town I expected to be wow-ed...but it was just "okay". The huevos rancheros my boyfriend ordered were puddled in oil and rather unappetizing. My burrito was decent, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get another one. The waitress was extremely busy and could not attend to us very much, understandably, but the owner was very sweet and checked on us. Nice, hard-working people,...
