This is a family review. This was a typical small town family restaurant that was really busy which is always a good sign.
Service was good and friendly. Prices were good average. About $6-8 with some $3 kids meals.
10 yrs old boy got cold ham and cheese sandwich. He said 3 stars he didn't like the ham. 4 star on French fries.
15 yr girl ordered hot and cheese supreme. 4 star
French toast was really good 4 star and sausage 2 star
Western omelette with toast hashbrowns. 4 star. Wished they had real butter.
Ranchers breakfast with bacon biscuit. Potatoes. Really liked the potatoes, diced homemade and bacon was amazing, I received 3 large slices. Biscuit also was one of the better ones I have ever had though as stated above they only have margarine so I didn't put anything on it other than a little jam.
Now coffee .... it is a little better than most Texas coffee ... which is colored water usually. I drank one and a half cups which if I was to rank the average coffee in Texas I would give it 2-3 out of 10. I would give this a 5 out of ten. I like my coffee medium to dark with lots of flavor. But hey, that's what coffee shops are for.
We would definitely come back if we were in town. We agree it is one of the better family style restaurants we have gone to...

I am very (admittedly) picky about my salads and when I had removed all the lettuce spines I was left with almost nothing. That's on me. My daughter said the Salisbury steak tasted like a semi solid slab of potted meat but the potatoes were good. My chicken fried steak was more fried breading than steak and the steak that was there was tough and chewy. The 'creamed' potatoes tasted like stale potato flakes that were cooked yesterday and served in a perfect small scoop on the plate. We were given dessert as part of the special and it was such a mystery we flipped to see who had to try it. My daughter said it was something...
Read moreBAD on Tuesday morning. horrific food. day old hard biscuits from last week's freezer burnt. dry, so hard they could not cut it with knife. food served cold. oatmeal served cold. no cinnamon. no raisins. nothing offered but brown sugar. 😔 We won't be back for cold breakfast here again. I'm sad this restaurant has lost its standards. oh and no coffee refills. staff was way off This Tuesday morning and so was kitchen staff. we now are leaving and going down the street and eat. such a disappointment.
