We had a fantastic breakfast experience at Denny’s in Killeen, TX, thanks to our amazing waitress, Ashley! From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm smile and a cheerful, welcoming attitude that instantly made us feel at home.
Ashley was incredibly kind, attentive, and full of positive energy. She took great care of us throughout the meal and offered helpful recommendations, I especially appreciated her mentioning the turkey bacon as a healthier alternative to regular bacon or sausage. (Trying to be good... even though my crepe was giving me the side eye. 😅)
She also checked in with us during the meal to make sure everything was still good, which we really appreciated. It’s always nice to know your server is genuinely looking out for you.
I also observed her interacting with other customers, and it was clear she treats everyone with the same level of love, kindness, and enthusiasm. Her positive vibe truly fills the room!
My brother ordered the Slam Burger, and he said it was a definite go-to—not greasy at all, my sister in law said her Bourbon Burger's beef actually tasted like real beef, with no weird fillers. Auntie said her 55+ meal exceeded her expectations because the portions was larger than expected for the great price. Major kudos to the chef and all the hardworking folks behind the scenes in the kitchen!
Another great perk at this Denny’s location is their 10% military discount (with valid ID)—a thoughtful touch that doesn’t go unnoticed.
Overall, this Dennys location and Ashley made our breakfast extra enjoyable, and I truly hope management knows what a gem they have in her. If every server had her energy, this world would be an even greater place!
We’ll definitely be back, maybe, lol cuz we are just...
Read moreMy recent visit to Denny's was unfortunately a let down. From the outset, the experience felt strained. Upon arrival, the server openly expressed to the host their desire to not take any more tables. Despite this, we were seated and the service continued downhill.
We received our drinks quickly, but then felt pressured to order our meals before we were ready. Our request for a few more minutes was met with a rushed return, leaving us feeling obligated to order before we had a chance to properly look over the menu.
To add to the frustration, simple requests like straws for our drinks went unanswered. We ended up resorting to using unopened straws from an adjacent, unclean table.
The problems continued with the food service. My friend's meal arrived with tomatoes, despite specifically requesting it be left off. While my own order was correct, another issue came up – a clogged syrup dispenser. Using the syrup required removing the nozzle entirely, further disrupting the meal and making a sticky mess.
Following this, our server became completely absent. They spent the remainder of their shift in the back eating, and even engaged in a loud conversation with a co-worker about another employee, which we were forced to overhear.
To conclude this disappointing experience, we waited a significant amount of time for our check, but never received one. Flagging down the server across the restaurant, we were simply told to head to the front to pay without a bill. At the register, I had to recount my entire order for them to process the payment.
Overall, this visit to Denny's was a frustrating experience defined by inattentive service, incorrect food, and a general lack of care. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this location and will not...
Read moreI have not eaten at a Dennys in awhile, so I was ready to enjoy nnold, familiar experience. Unfortunately, this location failed to deliver.
Upon walking in, the entry smelled strongly of bathroom chemicals, the dining room smelled like urine. We were seated quickly enough, but the kitchen was not fast at all. Customers filled the waiting area waiting for their order, and ours took a very long time to come out.
The waitress was friendly, but failed to keep our cups full. We sat at least 10 minutes waiting for refills.
The menu selection seemed decent, but they had no steak, which we both wanted. Also, watch the menu carefully. Most places will ask you how you want your eggs, but many menu items now tell you how the eggs come If you are not watching, you get the wrong kind We found this out the hard way. Interestingly, when my friend asked for eggs differently, they returm with the plate in about 60 seconds. Very fast.
As far as the food, it was okay but nothing to write home about. I had the appetizer sampler. The chicken wings were good, but the chicken tenders were dry. The onion rings were good, but they skimped terribly on the queso for the chips (see how little there is in the picture). The bacon was tiny and thin, the sausage was generic and had hardly any flavor. Hashbrowns were undercooked, but pancakes and eggs were good.
All in all, I ate alright, but I do not plan to go back. This is not a good area of.town to begin with, and I would rather travel to Harker Heights to get a good IHOP that return to this Dennys. So much for...
