This is the best Thai restaurant in the area, I’ve ordered shrimp fried rice with medium to the hottest spice for years now, it’s great. Over the years my family and I have received our order with live gnats in it and despite us throwing it away, we still made our way back to ordering shrimp fried rice from there. It’s been a while since I have ordered and today I had taste for it, so I went looking for it on Door Dash once again. On Door Dash shrimp fried rice is no longer listed on their menu and because I wasn’t privy to them moving to a new location, I decided to call and see if this was the same restaurant I’ve bought from all these years. The gentleman answered and I must have caught him at the wrong time, he was cutting me off quite a lot as I confirmed they are indeed the same restaurant I once knew. After confirming, I went to confirm if they still served shrimp fried rice or not since on Door Dash all I seen was Curry Fried Rice. He ended up asking a lady (possibly the cook) and he informed me that they “no longer take custom orders” and he also referred me to another website to place my order. He also kept repeating throughout the call that they are in the process of fixing the menu on their app. He told me they were busy and it was apparent that he was in a rush. At this point I hadn’t been on the phone with the gentleman no more than 3 minutes as I remained patient with him. From my perspective he was being very rude with me and it felt like he was rushing me off the phone. After he told me they are too busy at the moment to do a “custom order” - the shrimp fried rice my family and I have ordered for over 5 years, he asked me to what I’d like to order. Before I could even finish asking my final question, which would’ve been “when do you think the app will be fixed”, he hung up in my face. Him hanging up in my face was quite disturbing because I kept my cool the entire call. Not once did I have an attitude, I went with the flow. I think it was disturbing mostly because I recognize his voice. I’ve always known them to be very polite people, so it sucks to be treated like I was treated today. Even after being disrespected, I tried to call back to no avail. Although their food is great, when it doesn’t have gnats in it 5% of the time, it sucks to not be able to have some of my favorite food in the city because I will never order from this restaurant again. I wish you all the best, I hope you all can find it in your heart to treat your customers who respect you all with the same respect. It truly is sad that y’all treat the very people who have supported your business for years with such little love. I know people aren’t perfect and people may hate to serve people, but I hope the gentleman that hung up in my face finds peace. Based on the call, you all...
Read moreI've had better, they only have to go, you can eat in at the tiny table inside. Lacks atmosphere, the employees were kinda rude. No pictures of any of the menu on the walls, people eat with their eyes before their stomachs. Needed more spices badly, I asked for the spices that came with my order, they gave me little plastic to go cups, random spices in them. All of this should have been cooked at the same time with the food in the Wok. They didnt seem to care, I try not to go unless Im craving Thai. I've had Thai in 4 different states MANY places including Alaska. This one has the basics down, but it's lacking passion with their food, and cooking with the flavor of smoke Thai is supposed to have FIVE different "tastes" ( they should add smoke too!) Mine was VERY bland. What is the flavor of Thai? One of the key aspects of Thai cuisine is its artful blending of the five major tastes: sweet, sour, salty, bitter and hot. Most cuisines of the world do not employ the bitter taste, but in Thailand it is a flavor well-loved and appreciated. ... Shrimp paste, fish sauce and tamarind round out the many flavors... Wife LOVES the curry dishes they have, they were above average. They need to get over the Covid junk and open their dine again, live life...
Read moreThis establishment serves truly exceptional Thai cuisine! Whenever I come across papaya salad on a Thai menu, it sparks my enthusiasm as it embodies a genuine taste. One dish that caught my attention was the pepper chicken with level 3 hotness. Initially, the spice was subtle, but with each bite, its intensity grew, resulting in a satisfyingly flavorful experience.
To enjoy later, I decided to take away 2 servings of papaya salad and sticky rice, accompanied by a portion of fried chicken. The quality of the food at this restaurant is truly remarkable. While I had hoped for a fish option, the only choice available was tilapia. Unfortunately, my personal taste preferences don't align with tilapia, but if you're a fan, I'm sure it's prepared with love and care.
Regarding the venue, it might show signs of wear and tear. However, I've often found that places with a weathered appearance tend to offer more authentic and delightful cuisine compared to those with overly Americanized menus and fancy seating. Thai Thai reinforces this notion, as their delectable offerings didn't disappoint despite the less...
