Destino Coffee Company — Restaurant in Kimberly

Let’s start off by saying I live in the Portland metro area - we have our choice of good coffee, and have a great selection of coffee shops with all sorts of perks. We were in Kimberly for a wedding and decided to grab some coffee because we were early to the event. Chose Destino because it looked like we could sit outside. When we walked in, everyone was super friendly and welcoming. The owners were there and cleaning off tables and chairs and welcomed us in (we were clearly from out of town), and the inside of the shop was very clean. The coffee - perfect. A simple Americano with some cream and it was delicious. The flavor was so rich and smooth. They use Kona coffee, which I thought was impressive and great. Few shops use Kona, so it’s a nice treat when we can get it. We sat outside and enjoyed the morning. It’s right across from a park and ball fields - it’s a great spot to sit and enjoy small-town America. We were so impressed with the shop that when the bride and groom were wanting to go find coffee after their ceremony, we sent them to Destino and they were also impressed. I recently visited Destino Coffee Company and had mixed feelings about the experience.

Positives: Friendly Staff: The employees were welcoming and polite, which made for a pleasant atmosphere.

Negatives: Disappointing Drinks: Unfortunately, the drinks did not meet our expectations. My beverage was overwhelmingly milky—about 90% milk with just a hint of sugar. It was hard to discern any other flavors. Sour Smoothie: My daughter ordered a mango smoothie that was surprisingly sour. Thankfully, my other daughter enjoyed her tropical smoothie, which was a small relief. Slow Service: The wait for our bagels felt longer than expected, and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, possibly due to being new. Quality of Cream Cheese: The cream cheese served was the cheaper variety with additives, rather than the classic Philadelphia cream cheese, which was disappointing.

Overall, while the atmosphere was nice and the staff friendly, the quality of the drinks and food left much to be desired. I hope they can improve on these aspects...

Destino Coffee Company is hands-down one of the best coffee spots I’ve ever visited! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that makes you feel like family.

The staff here is beyond amazing—attentive, friendly, and truly passionate about what they do. They take the time to remember your favorite drinks, offer great recommendations, and ensure every visit is nothing short of perfect. It’s rare to find such a welcoming atmosphere where the team truly values their customers.
