Caught wind of this place looking for a place to eat in the Twin falls area a couple of years ago... never got there but figured one day I would cuz their FB post made the food look to die for... We finally made it last Friday evening...the staff was buzzy, we had ackwardly wandered half way into the place before we caught someone's attention and she said we could sit anywhere.... so we parked ourselves and were eventually looking at the menu, imagine my surprise when the menu was a bit different... no breakfast... no soup... and the prices were 25 to 50% higher..I'm not a big burger guy so that left us fewer options... We ended up ordering the French dip and one of the salads... my wife saw one across the room and thought it looked amazing and huge.... we got our meals after a bit and while it looked pretty good it soon became apparent that looks can be decieving... The salad while being big was all spring greens... nice and fluffy... there were 4 or 5 small pieces of over cooked dry chicken looked like they'd cooked up an old breaded chicken patty and put a few pieces on each salad... these had been around for a while... some olives, blue cheese and part of an avocado made up the balance of the salad... not sure where the dressing disappeared to but there wasn't much on the greens... she couldn't finish the salad because it was just greens that completely overwhelmed everything else...she said she wondered why the other lady didn't eat all of hers... I ordered one of the French dip style sandwiches... it would have been good if there was 2 to 3 times the meat... it was sliced beef... like lunch meat warmed with cheese and stretched out across the foccacia bread some areas didn't even have meat.. the meat that was there would fall off the sandwich when you tried to dip it...And one edge was crusty and dry.. the others were soft like I would expect.. the au jus was so very salty... there was just so much bread.. not toasted or sauced... just thick foccacia... and so little meat and cheese... towards the end of the meal our server came by and I told her the au jus was so salty... she thanked me for telling her...I asked if I could have some of the cheese sauce that came with the other French dip sandwich to finish the one I ordered... she brought it and it made all the difference in the part of the sandwich I had left.... The best part of the whole meal was the fries... homemade... delicious....But $40 is a lot to pay for great fries... At the end of the day...would we go back? Not sure... maybe for breakfast... but i wouldn't drive 2.5 hours just to...
Read moreWe love supporting local places here in Twin Falls, but after how we were treated I will never go back. When the waitress took payment I could tell she took 2 or 3 payments at one time and I had a hunch something was going to go wrong. When she came back she just gave me the book and said I never gave her a card. All I said was that I know I did and she may have misplaced it and to please go look for it, or ask the other 2 customers if she gave them my card and she flipped out, yelling, saying I was accusing her of stealing my card when I clearly didn't. Then the owner came to talk to me and clearly stated that he doesn't care what the customer says, he will always back his employees, so he pretty much got mad at me saying I was calling his employee a thief. I clearly said I wasn't, and that all I wanted was them to search for it, which they never did while I was there, so I left my number, got home, canceled my card, and later that afternoon the owner called to say they had found it. When I went to get it I never received an apology for the way they acted and he said he will always stand by his employees, pretty much telling me that I was still in the wrong even though they did have my card. In my opinion, the chefs are amazing, and make great American dishes and they should leave to start their own dinner because the management and service here is not where near the...
Read moreStopped here on 4th of July after seeing decent reviews and there weren't many other places open. Tatted waitress wouldn't take our food order until we ordered drinks. Said she had coke products, so I asked for my favorite, Cherry Coke. My associate asked for a hot water first then a local rootbeer after we glanced at the menu. She came to take our orders. My buddy was counting on fish and chips. She informed us there was no fish! His second choice was just soup. Well apparently they didn't have soup either. At this point we decided to go somewhere else. Waitress brings us a bill for $7.99. The rootbeer was $4.00, coke was 2.00 and there was an additional $1 charge for flavoring... Seriously? That's when I noticed my drink had a funny syrupy taste. Not like the real Cherry Coke I expected. We asked for a discount since we wouldn't have ordered drinks if we had known they didn't have menu items. She comes back and discounts only the $1 flavoring. My associate then informs her that if he is paying $4 for a rootbeer that he would like to have the can as a souvenir. She told him he would have to purchase another. Horrible customer service. Poor menu options. And felt as if we had...
