I will start by saying I’ve normally had a good experience here but tonight not so much. I was so looking forward to trying their Friday night prime rib. I ordered it rare but no more cooked than medium rare, what I received was medium at best. Rare is supposed to be bloody, medium rare is also but not quite as much. Mine was nothing close. I sent it back and I guess it was a manager who came and spoke with me. First he said I had gotten the middle of the rib roast and it was the rarest part. Well if that is the rare part just call it roast beef and not charge $40. He offered to make me a ribeye, felt the need to explain to me that it was a similar cut, it might be from the same area but they are prepared very differently. I know the difference. I said that was fine as long as I could have it rare. He interrupted me by saying “ma’am, ma’am, ma’am”, very very rudely. I wasn’t arguing, I wasn’t being rude, I was being nothing but gracious and didn’t deserve to be treated like I was some crazy woman throwing a fit. I am sitting at the bar in this restaurant, by myself because I was just recently widowed. I just wanted to have a decent evening and it was stolen from me by a very rude manager. The bartender was lovely and I tipped him very well, but I don’t think I...

The Cork & Plough is a hidden gem in King City!

It’s a little off the beaten path for someone traveling through town, but well worth the detour.

The servers were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. Our server helped us with the menu and made some great recommendations. The bartender, Juice (his name), made special raspberry Lemon Drops for my mom and wife that got two thumbs up.

The food was all very tasty. The Chicken Wings with Spicy Thai sauce had a crispy-crust and juicy meat. The sauce was, as advertised, spicy and a bit on the sweet side. The soup of the day, potato leek, was well seasoned and chockfull of tasty potato bits. The Cuban Sandwich got mixed reviews: my wife loved it, my mom said it was good but she wouldn’t order it again (no meaningful elaboration). I tend to side with my wife.

The Braised Oxtail French Dip—which, for reasons I don’t understand, got negative reactions from my table just because of the cut of meat (you’ll eat his butt, but not his tail?)—was amazing! Imagine the best pot-roast ever made—fall apart tender, juicy, exploding with flavor—that’s what this was. Don’t miss out on this, order it.

All in all, we had a great experience that we were not expecting in a little...

I have enjoyed visiting this establishment for many years. Some items have improved and others have gone way down. I really enjoy going but i wish service and standards would stay consistent whether owner/manager was present or not Pros: -Coctails are good -Food is good most days -nice atmosphere on some days

Cons: -Paper menus are disgusting and either wrinkled or have stains. -service is ridiculously slow even when there are very few guests staff is great when owner (manager?) Is present, but they seem to just hang out when he's gone. -super loud during dinner time, it's difficult to talk to friends or family.

-staff doesn't care when other guests are bothered by rowdy drunk guests (They allow drunk people to stumble to the restrooms and run into other guests.)

When bartender's friends arrived, we were forgotten.

Basically: they're ok keeping their prices high, but their standards in service are too low and inconsistent, and their atmosphere is allowed to become too rowdy. I can't bring my family for a nice classy...

I really wanted to love this place since we drive through the city every other weekend for work. It turned out to be a bust. The waitress wasn't as friendly and didn't understand portion size or to guess how many boxes are needed when told 4 were needed (she brought 3). There were also no signs on the door or anywhere in the restaurant, that they only were taking cash. The waitress upon seating is didn't inform us either. If this was the case I would have at least liked to have seen a sign/ been notified one way. We had cash and we're able to pay in full. The food was ok. Hit or miss with the it's received. I would say it's return for sure for the amazing zucchini fries, but nothing else. The French onion was too salty, the French dip didn't have any flavor, and the beet salad was just not good. And only upon leaving did another co-worker asked if wanted a bag for our stuff or not. Maybe our experience was completely based off of service and I hope that's the case. I'm not sure if I'd be back, except for those zucchini fries.

My friend from work invited me to an impromptu late afternoon lunch/early dinner. Neither of us was sure of where to go and The Cork and Plough popped up on her screen when she searched restaurants nearby. And boy....were we pleasantly surprised! Immediately greeted by the friendly and open on-floor staff Andrew and Jess, we were seated and given the daily specials. The restaurant was open and spacious without feeling sterile; it was up to date and modern and welcoming. The service we were provided was conscientious without being overbearing. Our drinks were delicious and yummy (The Rosemary Lemondrop), I recommend for anyone to try. She had a Tri-Tip French Dip sandwich and I had an Albacore Tuna Salad sandwich; an appetizer of Fried Zucchini w/homemade Ranch Dressing preceded the meal. All were well portioned and tasty. Again I can't stress how warm and welcoming the wait-staff were. Definitely will return here!! What a wonderful "little jewel" to find in King City. Thanks Jess and Andrew.

We were driving on 101 getting depressed while looking for dinner (and only seeing fast food and Mexican) when my google happened to come up with a hit on Cork and Plough a little ways off the freeway in King City. What a treat! The place is friendly and welcoming, the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious and fresh! My past was prepared al dente with crispy asparagus and was infused with a lovely light tarragon flavor. The Salad was exceptional, a great balance of clean and light oil, sweet and sour with aromas of herbs, crunch and tasted freshly picked. My husband's burger was juicy and delicious and the fries were not oily but cooked crispy and tasted just made. My cocktail was also delightful, not too sweet or too much alcohol and a lovely mix of fruit flavors. Kudos to chef Diana Gonzalez for getting everything just right!!! She is indeed an artist.
