Wiener Works — Restaurant in Kings Mountain

Hot dogs and fries. How would one screw this up? I have no idea. With that said the food was as expected... It's not gourmet but it's a good hotdog. I observed more than one of the employees doing tasks with gloves on without changing them or washing their hands... To be specific, one came out from the back with a box of frozen items and then proceeded to work with the prepared and ready to eat food with the same gloves on...another employee had a habit of adjusting his hat while he "cooks and serves".... This practice is definitely not in line with good food safety and sanitation guidelines. All the tables are pushed up against one wall with signs that say "take out only"... Your decision but maybe advertise this fact.

Finally I observed that there is a technical right of way with a stop sign on one end of the property. The employees constantly have this blocked off and I'll bet it's to block thru traffic from Walmart... Probably for employee safety because their dumpster is across from the building. This doesn't make it right out legal OR perhaps the stop sign is there without a right of way? GIS would give the real answer but I don't care...

I hate there's not an option for 0 stars. Worst lunch experience I've had in a while! So my husband and I stopped here on our lunch break. Spent 20 mins in the place ordering and waiting for our food. With 10 mins left we jump in the truck and head back to work, planning to eat along the way. I start unpacking the food. So first problem, my cup of chili with cheese is about 3 oz, I open the lid and there is like one bite of chili( which did taste good) but the rest was a horrible tasting cheese sauce. Second, my husband ordered a works dog. The same awful cheese sauce was smothered all in it. My kraut dog looked ok at first, aside from being really sloppy, but as I went to bite into it I noticed chili in it. I was so excited so se kraut dog on the menu but like everything else it went in the trash. Needless to say we both went back to work hungry because we didn't have time to go somewhere else, and nothing we got was edible. The service wasn't bad, the guys in there were nice. But seriously don't bother...

As a Kings mountain local of 35 years this is the best food I ever ate. Been eating here all my life,staff has always been friendly,prices are always fair,food is top quality,i never bought wiener works a single time without having to double back because the food is just so good. I had to start eating in my car in the parking lot because I knew when I finished I was going to want some more. Don't ever order takeout because soon as you get home and eat it you are going to want to come back for more because it's so good. Sit inside and eat or out in your car because I guarantee you you will be mad you left without getting more. Wiener works is my #1 place to eat id choose wiener works over a steakhouse every time. I wish them further success and eventually I hope to see them expand out and branch out with new locations as long as they open them and Instill good customer service and quality food wiener works can...
