So I go here all the time because I really like the food, even though the portions are smaller and the prices are higher than they used to be. I've been going here since they opened over 10 years ago. Well tonight I took in my own water cup because I'm pregnant and the cups they give for water are tiny. Well the guy at the counter made a comment about if I did that again I would have to dump it put or leave or whatever and it was his restaurant and he could do what he wanted. Instead of just saying okay I proceeded to tell him why I had my own cup and I thought that he was being petty. Well dude got an attitude and started going off. We went back and forth a couple times and finally I was just like give me my change so I can sit down. I recognize I could have avoided all of that by saying just saying okay, but here's the thing... if you work in customer service you don't get to be the one with an attitude. That's a basic concept and I can say that because I've been in customer service and dealt with some horribly rude people and have NEVER gotten an attitude with them, because when that's your job your job you just don't do that. Also, I have literally always taken my own water cup here every time I've ever gone in here because like I said there water cups are tiny. Actually I take my own water cup into almost every restaurant because that's a common problem for me and this is the only guy that ever got an attitude about it. Besides all that why cop an attitude with a pregnant lady? I thought in general people just don't do that. Next time I'll just stop at Sake on the way home from work. There food is...
Read moreI ate here, well almost ate here today. My wife and I ordered the teriyaki vegetable plate and my wife’s with no mushrooms. We got the food home and our kids started eating their teriyaki chicken plates. They told us their broccoli tasted really awful and weird. I tried it and it taste like dish soap. I called them back they told me to bring the plates back, so I did. When I got there the manager told me that his vegetables do not taste like soap he has been cooking all day and his vegetables do not taste like soap. So, I told him to try them and eat it and then let me know. He refused. Then he told me he would never cooked vegetables for me again because his vegetables do not taste like soap. I said OK I won’t order them again. Then he gave me my money back which I thought was nice, but he did not offer me any more food or anything. Then I said OK will thanks and then as I started to leave he asked me where the shrimp sauce was. So, I asked him “were you going to give that to someone else?” “It’s already been at my house and you can’t re-serve that to someone else.” Then he told me “I give you shrimp sauce and give you back your money and it’s my shrimp sauce. I told him I would bring it back but I’m probably not going to unless he wants it slammed up against the windows of his restaurant. He has lost this customer and my family for life. Although this was the first negative experience I’ve had here, it was probably the most negative experience I’ve had an any restaurant ever, my entire life Besides this one time some kid pooped in the floor, but that wasn’t the...
Read moreI took my Girlfriend to Yamatos yesterday to grab a bite to eat and had to drive off before the order was even completed. The Guy at the window was rude, and very disrespectful in tone. And even though we were spending over $20 I was told that "i couldn't have a straw because I didnt buy a drink" and he was very serious about it. In my mind, im folding like origami collapsing on myself because the whole situation could have gone side ways (over his tone and a straw that i would have gladly paid 25 cents for -- IF GIVEN THE OPTION. Good thing for us both that im a civilized person with ambitions, because when i asked for a manager i was told "there is no manager in the store". So i cancelled my order and told him what to do with the food and his invaluable straw. I will never give Yamato Express II another red or brown cent as long as it employees people who dont know how to respect other people by providing this kind of service and its owners take a more personal interest in their business. Im from N.Y. by the way, this IS NOT Japanese food, and its over priced for what you get. When you spend here you are not buying a meal, you're only spending your...
