Was passing through and wanted catfish. This place popped up on the maps.

It's in the back of a BP station and the sign is not very big. Google maps kept saying to take a U turn, But really we just needed to cut across the 4 lane. It sneaks up on you.

We came kinda late. 45 minutes before closing. But no problems. We sat ourselves but the server was right there with menus. Very helpful and pleasant.

We order the fried pickles and Cajun catfish dinner. No turnip greens, so I ordered the green beans and macaroni and cheese. R got fried okra and fries.

Dinner came out before the pickles. I guess they forgot. But when they did come out the pickles were HOT and fresh and have a very delicious flavor. Chips not spears the way we like it.

The fish was delicious. I was skeptical at first because it looked dark but we ordered the Cajun.. so while it looked dark it was not burnt and it did not taste like old oil. The pickles were golden so I think it's just the batter. And it was HOT temperature, and tasty. We highly recommend.

The fries were not as hot as the fish and could have been cooked a little longer. R said the okra was ok. Average.

The green beans and mac and cheese both were ok. I think they both needed a little bit more flavor. Not bad, but I've had better. Was wishing I would have gone with coleslaw.

All in all it was a good visit. We do recommend the catfish.

We had an excellent meal at Pop's just now. My husband got the catfish plate. I got a chicken and bacon wrap with fries and my daughter got the 3 sides and roll meal. Everything was absolutely perfect! My wrap was so big that I could share half with her and still be stuffed after my half and some crinkle cut fries. The wrap stuck out not only because of the size of it, but the chicken was cut into small pieces that matched the bacon, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and the ranch. It's the best wrap I've ever had! He went on and on about how good the catfish was with slaw being equally delicious. The hushpuppies were the perfect mesh of crispy in the outside and soft on the inside. You guys have to check this place out! We can't...

Well a friend and I went there and looked like there was a couple of waitresses there we had got there first before two other table guests arrived and they were waited on before us so finally had to ask to be waited on .I had noticed that the guests that got waited on first seemed to be very acquainted with the waitresses so l suppose we were strangers in a strange land. I remember I once had went there over fifteen years ago I was made to remove myself from the table because I didn't have a reservation for it was fish night. So I just left never returned so I would try it again so nothing had really changed with the bad attitude from those folk's .I should have paid attention to the Ole saying once bitten twice shy and...

A very good experience. We came here on the recommendation of a friend and it is a gem in the rough. Remove your predisposition about restaurants attached to gas stations as this is nothing like that sketchy fair. Think comfort food where everything is smothered in gravy and serving sizes are more than generous. I tried the fried chicken livers and they were well cooked and very crispy. The mashed potatoes and gravy were very good but the mac and cheese was runny and kind of lackluster. Our waitress was very kind and attentive throughout the meal. Cost was a touch higher than the average but I think that the portion sizes make up for the difference soo I will not deduct any points on this front.

We are planning to relocate to the area and hope to find a mom & "pop" type restaraunt with homey atmosphere and food, where they will welcome regulars by name- like one we are leaving behind. This place is definitely in the running! We went for breakfast, everything was good, service was excellent (they kept the coffee cups filled!) The baked apples were delish! We will be back!
