Gecko's At Lake Texoma — Restaurant in Kingston

Food, margarita, and service were awful. Granted they had a few birthday parties, but just not anything I’ve ever experienced before. I had a frozen margarita and it tasted like it’d been in the machine for a while or something, kind of tasted moldy, hard to explain. There were flies buzzing around our food, so very hard to eat while shooing them off. Finally had to ask for a box to take it home because I didn’t want to share with flies. The salsa just tasted like canned tomatoes. The food I probably should have just left it for the flies because it was very bland. Like they slapped some beans, cheese and taco meat in a dish which I could have done better myself at home. Service was awful too. No one came to take our order, we had to flag someone down, and had to go to the bar to get our drink. No one ever came back to check on us to see if we needed anything else. The other disturbing thing was, they had a reserved table set up for a birthday party, and they had the chips and salsa on the table before they arrived, which flies were landing on without the parties knowledge. The food was bland and the cheese dip was gross. I ordered nachos and it looked like they placed chips in a single layer, in a circle on a plate and sprinkled hardly any toppings on them. Actually used semi melted "shredded" cheese on it. I asked the server if they forgot the cheese and a woman came out of the back, looked at my plate, and said the cheese was under the meat and other toppings. Since there wasn't much for toppings on it, you can guess how stingy they were with the cheese. I wish I would have taken a picture because I've never ordered nachos and been served this. It was almost comical. I guess the woman in the back is the one who prepared my food, as she seemed indignant that I said something about their sad food. When you order nachos, you expect cheese! My first bad review sadly but the Geckos at Texoma was very disappointing, The SM White Queso was good, the wings were really terrible way over cooked sent them back then received the same thing again, the fiesta was alright could use a tad bit of flavor but other than that it was alright, The Guizo was terrible the beef had no flavor at all had to add the queso for flavor and the corn tortillas were dry also and were falling apart when handled but the service was great tho props to our server she was super sweet. The interior could use some more decorative stuff to make it pop out as a Hispanic style restaurant in the main room or even just some Mexican music at-least. Bathrooms were clean so A+ to that.
