What's the Scoop? — Restaurant in Kingston

Update: 6/2524:The first portion of this review is from 6 years ago. Took the kids for ice cream and it was outstanding. The people were exceptionally nice and can't wait to go back.

Update: we have been coming here for so many years. I went today and I was surprised to see that everything, ( other than the ice cream) has gone downhill. You can no longer go inside unless you order on the go and the girl at the window was not only not knowledgeable about what they even have she was RUDE!! Never once has anyone here been rude to us. I tried to order and she just kept saying we don’t have any blueberry ice cream… or lemon meringue ice cream… I finally said blueberry pie ice cream ?!!! She said well we have that but that’s not what you asked for and the VERY SAME COMMENT about the lemon meringue. I ordered another strawberry shortcake and a pup cup . We FINALLY got our order and I checked the bag thankfully and no strawberry shortcake!!! I said you forgot one as she is going back inside the door… she opened it and said what?? I said you forgot one, strawberry shortcake!! She looked at me dumbfounded and said really??? I didn’t hear that one. I was ready to just leave everything. Another girl came up got the last ice cream and we left. We have gone there twice a week for years spring through the end of fall because the people were always so nice it was a nice trip from a couple towns over and the ice cream is good. That’s saying something since in our own town there are two ice cream shops that we drive by to get here. This is the first time this spring to come here and I am sad to see that people and the whole not being allowed inside have made it a reason...

Google says open until 8, the website says “updated summer hours” open til 9, then I call and they say they close at 8. This has happened to me many times. The ice cream is good and the girls that work there are fine but they give conflicting information. Last summer I tried to place an order to pick up over the phone (which I had done many times in the past) and I was told “you can come wait in line here with everyone else.” Wish I could say better things, but I simply can’t because I’ve had one too many bad conversations/miscommunications.

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me within 1 hour of posting this review and apologized about the mix up with the hours. I originally gave 3 stars overall and 2 stars on service but I am adjusting that now due to his follow up. Hoping the hours get straightened out and they can stay open until...

Prices and selection are really good but I would say they need improvement on size ,temperature and remembering orders.I got 3 ice creams 2 both the same and the 3rd was a sundae,the cups that were the same both were missing sprinkles which i asked for and in all 3 cups the ice cream was halfway melted already and were talkin a minute after i received them.As far as size most of the time if i buy ice cream and get a 2 scoop I cant come close to finishing it (atleast at memories down the street) but the one I got I finished quickly and was actually still wanting more.The staff was nice and other then forgetting one topping did a satisfactory job just need a bit of improvement on some of the other things i mentioned.overall decent experience though it wasnt horrible and i...
