Kirby's Cafe

My experience was here was both good and bad.

The good: the atmosphere was wondeful, the appetizers we ordered where good, the fried pickles can feed a group of 2 to 3 people, and the mozzarella sticks come in 6 pieces that was small but thick. The chicken fried steak was amazing, and the customer services from the wait staff was great as well.

The Bad: the fried pickles came in late due to delivered to the wrong table. The Grilled chicken breast I ordered was bland, and didn't live up to the menus description. Found a hair in the mashed potatoes and had to send it back. I also witnessed the cook have an absolute and uncalled for B-Fit. The cook sent it out again and said "I hope this doesn't come back", very angrily to my server.

Servers hands were shaking really bad as well, then again I would be too if I was getting angrily talked down to.

I hope the wait staff gets treated better than that.

With all of this, I rate it 3 stars. I would have rated 4.5 stars, if the cooks and coordination of how the food was brought out would have been better.

The servers did help doc some of the ticket off due to the hair.

This is an excellent family run food service restaurant their waiters are usually very prompt and on time this day they had a lot of people and not a lot of Waiters so it was a little different but for the most part all of their services are five star yeah atmosphere there really isn't one you come in you eat and you roll you provide your own atmosphere I was there for a meeting and we use their back room they did not let anyone else sit in the back room while we were in that meeting they respected our meeting and ask everybody else to sit at the front while we were in the back they served as quickly I was late getting there and they still got my food to me within 10 minutes and it was hot and...

Kirby's has been around for probably 30 years now and I've eaten here probably 5-6 years over the years including recently. This is a good little restaurant on 6th street in the old downtown area, opening hours are 8am to 8pm. Menu features a typical range of local diner affair in Oklahoma.

During this recent lunch I had their chicken fried chicken with okra and salad. Food was ready in around 10 minutes and tasted really good. Chicken was nicely seasoned and battered. Just the right amount of crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. Service was super friendly and prices what you expect of local diners across the state. Kirby's is a good little place, worth trying...
