Elijah's Cafe — Restaurant in Kirbyville

I wasn't going to leave a rating but that seems the only way to leave a comment on my experience. Where to start... Well I'll start with being sat. Waitress was friendly and eager to serve my husband and I. I noticed after taking our drink order she was " stuck" seating table after table of customers coming in. No other server to be seen. After seating several tables, I noticed the other servers appeared and had their tables drinks and bread baskets out. Meanwhile we still haven't gotten our drinks and bread due to our server continuously sitting more customers. At this point which was about 20 mins of waiting after placing drink order, we were ready to leave. Here come another server to ask if we had our drink order as our server walked up with our drinks. We proceed to order our food my husband grilled chicken sandwich with bacon cheese grilled onions and mayo only. Me 10 oz ribeye medium rare comes with salad. I gave my salad to my husband and ordered baked potato and steam veggies. Husband food made wrong, they left grilled onions off chicken was saltier that a horses salt block ( my husband loves salt) fries were old and over salted. My steak was well done, carrots in the steamed veggies was raw. I sent my $15.99 steak back to have it remade. I don't usually complain, but tonight's experience along with the last few recent experiences definitely makes me reconsider eating at your establishment again. I called just before closing time on a Sunday in hopes that it wouldn’t be a problem as I was ordering the fish… I received a warm welcome on the phone and was pleasantly surprised to hear that it was no problem at all. I was even thanked for my order. The food was great! Hot, fresh and tasty… The menus is reasonably priced and the the food is well worth it. They were out of baked potatoes for the night but was offered a substitution of loaded mashed potatoes that were every bit as satisfying. Dominik was very polite and cheerful and I can tell he is the right person for the job… I honestly can say that it would not surprise me if he isn’t in a management position if he were to pursue it. When I arrived the parking lot was empty and I could only see Dominik and one other individual inside. That didn’t seem to affect my service though. Dominik was just as pleasant as he was on the phone and very polite. Service with a smile!!! Elijah’s in Kirbyville in now my number 1 go to restaurant for take out. My wife and I love 💕 Elijah's. We are new to Texas and the big city of Kirbyville. We discovered Elijah's early on and it is our #1 go to. The food is awesome, we gave it 4 Star's for food because it is not a 5 ⭐ restaurant, needless to say the food is amazing. You cannot beat the prices. You will pay the same for restaurant quality food here as you would for fast food anywhere else. The staff gets 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s although they are not a five-star restaurant trained staff, they are however the most kind, considerate, caring and well raised group of young adults that you will ever meet.
