Bandeja Paisa Latin Restaurant orlando — Restaurant in Kissimmee

Came here because a coworker found some reviews and said this was a good place to try out. I actually read several Google reviews (good and bad) and decided the good outweighed the bad 10 to .5, so I had to come over and try for myself. I was definitely not disappointed and dare to say this restaurant was by far better than two other ones in Semoran Blvd. (hint, hint). It did not take long for the food the come out, about average compared to other non-fast food places, and everything was flavorful. Had the Bandeja Paisa with the steak. The steak was cooked to order and well seasoned. The sausage, arepa, and beans are by far the best I've had from a Colombian restaurant. The chicharron was just as good as any other place, and it's kinda hard to mess-up the avocado, sweet plantains, and white rice unless you do it on purpose. As for the service, I was seated in a table towards the back were I had a good view of pretty much the whole place and it appeared that all the servers where very friendly and attentive. People seemed to carry out with their conversations in a very friendly atmosphere. Our server was Yulie so I will be a bit bias. She was amazing, very friendly, attentive, and personable. She made us feel like we were friends for some time now without making things awkward. My coworker liked the Salsa Ve(L)de which he managed to spill more on the table than on his steak. I’m here on vacation and decided to grab lunch here with friends. I truly had the worst experienced here. I don’t usually leave reviews but this one was just mandatory. Food took over an hour to come out and our waitress said it’s because “they got packed” but I we arrived to the restaurant when there was only two other tables in service. Water took about 15-20 mins to come out while waitresses just pranced around. Took about 30 mins to take our order. I felt like I spent half of my afternoon there. When my food finally came out, our server placed the plate to the edge so the avocado fell on the floor , I asked her to replace it and she said “sorry you have to purchase one because that one is still in good condition”. I said “good condition? It’s on the floor” it was literally like 1/4 of an avocado and I just couldn’t understand why she couldn’t replace it, it comes with the order. just ended up telling me I have to buy a side order. Idk this was just an overall bad experience. Beans taste like they’re straight of a can with no flavor, nothing had flavor. Literally nothing and my steak was hella dry and cold. When we got the bill, it listed three options of tip, 15%, 18 % and 20%. They automatically choose the 20% but with our experience we were literally no way in hell going to leave a $30 tip so we had asked to get that changed. Please save your money and go elsewhere. December 16 I just left this restaurant and received really bad service from the get go. The girl was argumentive for no reason. We honestly think she was not all up there. I told her and showed her the Groupon prior to ordering. She said it's fine but I must order enough food as it was for $40. My husband said he will be happy to eat that much. In another table there was a family celebrating s birthday. The reason I mentioned this is because at paying time the girl said she will not honor the Groupon because it's for four people or more and she feels she should not honor it. My husband asked to see her manager and she raised her voice and replied that she already told him and that is that. . My husband said he wanted to see the manager immediately. At the same time the birthday table was having the same exact issue except their party was more than 4. The gentleman told his waiter to read the Groupon as it said 6 or more. Very rude and nasty service........((7 months ago))g and flavors. Only issue is the waitress. Gossip is a priority to then.
