My new favorite Mexican restaurant in Orlando!
I went with 2 other people, and we all loved our meals.
We went on a Monday night, and we were the only people in the restaurant.
I got the Chicken Alambre, which was absolutely delicious. The cheese was really flavorful, not the cheap, crappy, tasteless cheese that a lot of places use. It came with a side of rice (which has peas and carrots in it, yum!), refried beans, guacamole, and a side salad. The salad was really fresh, with good quality lettuce and red onions. It wasn't just the crappy shredded lettuce that a lot of Mexican restaurant throw on a plate and call a salad. This was an actual salad, and it was delicious. The meal came with 3 flour tortillas. (I was not offered a choice of flour vs. corn, but I would have chosen flour anyway.) The chicken used was all white meat, and it was good quality. The meal was beautifully plated. Just a fantastic meal all around.
My dining companions got the taco platter and the chicken fajitas. These meals were also plated very fancily and appetizingly, and both companions enjoyed their meals totally. My father-in-law, who had the tacos, wanted some hot sauce, and La Herradura has some REAL hot sauce! It was good quality homemade hot sauce, not just a bottle of Cholula or something like that. My father-in-law said it had both habañeros and jalapeños in it.
My only suggestion would be improving the salsa that is served with the chips while you are waiting for your food to come out. It could be zippier in my opinion, and it had kind of a vinegar-y underdone that I could do without. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't stellar like everything else.
A great restaurant, and I will...
Read moreThe food is ok. The carne asada in the burrito it was dry. We're like little cubes of dry dark meet looked more like dog food like pebbles. I come from California maybe that's why I expect different but really The meat looked like when you cook a piece of steak at home and than you leave it outside or The fridge for too long and it gets dark and hard" that's how ... For those that have not eat any real authentic Mexican you may find it really good and please I am not saying just to say with all respect I am not Mexican but I love Mexican food and had ate some of the best burritos in California.. I travel a lot domestic and international and I love trying all kinds of food. The waitress showed up only to get our order after that he didn't show his face and it was only 7pm on a Saturday was not busy at all. He was just helping us at the time so it wasn't that he was very busy... But he had time to be talking with the other waitress, we needed some refills we had to ask someone else. Not until we called him for our final check in which he added couple of things to our bill that we didn't order. So saying so double check your bill before you leave the place and I hope you get a better service. Ps don't quote me wrong the guy was nice but there was no attention to the customer. Also they don't have live mariachis like other places do (TENAMPA) On 192 Kissimmee.(live Friday and Saturdays starts between 6 and 8pm food is good I think Herradura has better tasting burritos my opinion) Here herradura the waitress said they have live music but not until 9 or 10pm. I would think this is kind of late specially if you are with family and kids is not like this is a restaurant/night club for starting...
Read moreBEYOND AWFUL !!!!!!!!!!!! Today is the next day and I'm still upset about my dining experience here. Staff would not accommodate us in seating arrangements. We requested to speak to a manager and manager/owner never showed face. They don't take reservations. Service is beyond slow because staff is too busy chatting or horse playing with each other. Margarita was Horrific!!!!!! BEWARE … No DRINK MENU and if you don’t clarify price with drink verbally then you will be charged for the most expensive drink they feel like giving you… I paid one price for my awful margarita and my cousin paid $3 more for her margarita . She was not happy but said it was a lesson learned for future purposes. Food came out almost cold. I ordered tacos and the meat tasted old and crunchy like it's been reheated multiple times but arrived to my table semi cold. Food portions are small and tasteless. Food is Way Overpriced for the quality and quantity that is served. I had to request for appetizer plates for my appetizer and took forever and multiple requests for it. Only 1 tissue given with utensils and No extra Tissues/Napkins provided. No waters served unless it was requested. Everything about this place is just awful and my experience was just horrible . Btw... we were a large group and 99% of everyone agreed the food, service, quantity and quality was beyond poor. Only positive was the entertainers/live music... very friendly, engaging with the clients, and very talented. A true shame for these talented performers because everything else at this place is just "AWFUL" and they deserve maybe only 1 Star Rating. I will “NEVER GO BACK” to...
