This place was better a few years back, which is the only reason I gave them more than the one star they rightfully deserved, based on today'sexperience. In fact, I had previously left a 4-star review three years ago. However, my encounter today was unfortunately very far from that.
See pics below... The first picture is a screenshot of what I ordered from their Lake Nona online menu. This is what I thought I would be getting - the Baked Ziti, shown with meat clearly visible in the "homemade" sauce. The next photo shows what I received instead - a dry, meatless, unappetizing pasta with a big glob of partially melted cheese on top - very insulting for $20.
This was sadly discovered when I got home, after having to go inside the restaurant (for the "curbside" pickup), where there was no hostess, and I was rudely ignored by the first two employees who walked by and made eye contact with me.
Upon calling the restaurant to inquire about the deceptive online photo, I was put on hold 3 separate times by the person who answered. Eventually, the manager picked up and debated with me about it, claiming that he couldn't find the picture of it online, but that the description doesn't say meat is included.
I told him that there is indeed meat shown in the online menu picture, which is false advertising and misleading at best, making it seem like there's indeed meat in the "homemade" sauce. He then goes on to say it only comes with meat if you specifically add it. But there's no option to do that online. You can only pick a side, but per the screenshot, there is no choice for adding meat in the pasta.
After what seemed like 10 minutes of being put on hold and having the awkward back and forth dialog with the manager, he ultimately decided that he'd take down my name and comp an entree on my next order (as opposed to simply refunding or at least discounting my current meal). Also, it was quite presumptuous of him to assume that I'd ever return again and subject myself to another disappointing vegetarian meal after...
Read moreA hidden Italian gem close to home! Giovanni's has a great menu with everything you would expect from a pizzaria with a prominant touch of its Italian roots, making it into a true Italian restaurant here in Orlando. This restaurant stands out for their quality of food, menu options, and presentation. The kitchen was much larger than I would expect, the dinning area was pleasant with booths and a full service bar. The service staff was also phenomenal; quick and accurate, there was nothing we needed to ask for as everything was brought to the table ahead of the food. We ordered the Primo Calzone, Garlic Knots, Calamari, personal Bianca pizza, and Tiramisu. Started with the garlic knots, the bread was freshly baked, and garlic was not overpowering or too much oil, just perfect. The Knots come with a homemade marinara to dip them in. Between me and my partner, we seemed to he racing to eat more than the other because they were just so good. We also had the Calamari. It was prepared well and had a good flavor. It came with the tentacles and the rings as I know for some the information matters when ordering Calamari in a restaurant. We ordered an expresso martini, which was just what we were craving. The Primo Calzone was huge! It's much larger than I expected, and I ended up sharing it and taking some home after. The quality in their cheese speaks volume on its own, but every ingredient inside were all fresh, I said nothing for my first few bites as I enjoyed the food and space around us! We were very full from everything, so we took a Tiramisu home. We ate the Tiramisu once we got home, and wow, after every bite was a smooth explosion of sweet flavor. My only regret is that we did...
Read moreWe are visiting Orlando and looked a spot for pizza and couldn't wait to try them! We decided to do takeout. I should've known how service would be once we got there and they said something went wrong with their system so they're preparing it now. They gave us a complimentary dessert which is why they get 2 stars for service. Let's get to the order: We ordered the "Don" and there were barely mushrooms on there, it was like bits and pieces and some slices nothing. So essentially I was eating a flatbread with sauce, onions and greens. I also specifically stated "no cheese" and of course they sprinkled Parmesan cheese all over. I had to try and scrap off the cheese to eat it because I am vegan. I couldn't eat the tomatoes. There were parts I couldn't even eat. Smh. The fries were dry and didn't have any flavor...not even salt? I drowned it with ketchup (that of course wasn't given or offered by them) and it still wasn't good. My guy ordered a pizza and garlic bread (whatever you call it), he said it wasn't even that good. For as much as I paid, I'm very disappointed. I spent almost $60 for them to mess up my order and for horrible fries and for it to end up in the trash. I need my money back for the don pizza and fries. I would've paid much less at Domino's and it taste better. This was takeout so I cannot comment on the atmosphere but I will not be going back to this place. Do better because this...
