The staff was nice but it took 2 waitresses to help because the assigned person didn’t speak English. Neither of the 2 knew what specials they had even though the special were playing on the TV’s throughout the restaurant! My husband and I read the reviews before arriving so I knew exactly what I wanted. The Red Snapper $28 with sweet plantains. After 2 attempts to order a margarita from the non English speaking waitress I finally got it…it had taste like I was drinking sugary water no tequila of any kind! Yo make matters worse the Red Snapper came out and I can smell it’s fishy old burnt grease smell coming out! The worst part was it was cooked very hard, I could only assume they were trying to cover up how old the fish was! Nothing fresh about it to into the grease it was in! Yes I took pictures! I couldn’t believe they served it! The waitress knew when I called her to the table what the problem was; I pointed out the foul odor of the fish and the texture along with the color! The fish just wasn’t fresh and poorly cooked! This place maybe simply good for a bar because the food doesn’t represent good quality. But again they have a live DJ and alcohol with nice and clean. I ended with a cold beer and my husband some cornbread appetizer and a water. I’m actually surprised the place looks like it use to bring in a crowed when I first moved to the area and passed by. My bill was $25 for the beer and appetizers and the sugar watered margarita. They certainly didn’t try and charge for that fish.

Orlando, FL. It was a sancocho kind of day. The gray skies, the bit of chill, and my tiredness made me stop here for a bowl of sancocho. Sancocho, with its rich stock; chunks of beef and chicken; hunks of yucca, potato and green plantain; a bit of mellow garlic; and a garnish of cilantro—-all comforted me like a mama’s hug. (Specifically this soup reminds me of Nildred, my Colombian coworker who’d buy sancocho when she felt under the weather and she’d eat it in the lunchroom.) This came with a plate of white rice, a cute little deep fried arepa, and a salad with homemade dressing redolent of olive oil and herbs. Everything was so good. There were no salt shakers on any table. To my surprise nothing needed salt. The flavors were excellent. I came around 5:00 pm on a Monday and dined inside. The music was fast-paced Latin music, not too loud, and images of Colombian beauties advertising Las Palmas flashed across the large screen tv on one wall. Young kids to grandparents, couples and singles all enjoyed their food in the smallish dining room that was about 50% full. My server was very sweet and checked in with me about four times. At the end of the meal I ordered a limonada coco, which was a slightly sweetened, tangy coconut cream drink. Around this time five servers came out to sing happy birthday to someone at the next table who was obviously a regular. If you’re missing Colombian home cooking you’ll find a nice welcome here. It’s right across from Gatorland, you can’t miss it.

This Colombian restaurant is an absolute standout—from the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a vibrant, inviting ambiance that blends authentic charm with a touch of tropical flair. The music, the décor, and the warm energy make it feel like you’ve been transported straight to a cozy corner of Colombia. What truly made the experience memorable was William. Friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about the menu, he made us feel like part of the family. When we asked what he recommended, he didn’t hesitate: “You’ve got to try the new Hawaiian empanadas.” And wow—what a recommendation. The empanadas were a perfect fusion of tradition and creativity. Golden and crispy on the outside, the filling was a delicious mix of tender pork, sweet pineapple, and Colombian cheese that created the perfect sweet-savory balance. It’s not something you’d expect, but it absolutely works. Whether you’re already a fan of Colombian cuisine or just looking to try something new in a beautiful setting, this place delivers. Thanks to William’s warm welcome and spot-on suggestion, we’ll definitely be back.

I had a bad experience with my family (group of 4). I went to have a good meal with latin music as an extra. The sitting argument was ok but they only have two menu's at hand. Busy Saturday night around 8:00pm on 8-5-2023. The waitress was very kind and sweet but she was new (one moth) when it comes to serve a tables. We order drinks and an appetizer. Not at problem with that. When we order our food only two plates arrived. The my frien order a churrasco with a salad. They only bring the churrasco no salad. She waited 34 minutes on the clock, when she saw the manager because the server was doing other things, she asked him if he thinks is correct for her to only get a churrasco without the salad and have a missing plate in addition from my daughter. He stayed no and offer to fix the situation and apologized. After few more minutes she got the salad and the meat was already cold. No dressing for the salad or tostones. Later on my daughter goted her plate when the rest of the group was almost done eating. The managers excuse was that they serve her plate to someone else. No resolution again just an apology. We finished our drinks and the waitress was no where to be found when all of this was happening. We where thirsty and no other drinks or refills where offer. When she show up to the table I kindly coached her in how she can be more successful in her job. I also express to her how disappointed I was. She was very sweet but did not offer any other drinks or desserts. The manager did not try to fix the situations or give a discount or maybe offer a free dessert or accommodate the situation some how. He just apologized and ignored the table completely. We realy did not care for that but the bad experience in a special night with my family was not good and the food was not great. Only one plate had a decent presentation.

Extremely disappointed with the experience. I will not...

I have been a customer for many many years, all the waitresses know us and have always had a pleasant experience. I WAS a customer that would come 2 to 3 times a week with my wife and sometimes with friends. This is the first time I have been here in 3 months. How is it that management does no longer serve media of Ron caldas or medellim????? This is the reason why I no longer come. I drink Ron usually media and my wife media of bucannas. Now you are loosing a customer that spends about $200 every time he comes in, about 2 to 3 times a week because of a silly decision or policy. Do you not realize how you are sending your customer away to simon parilla, soneros, la Fonda etc. I am sure media represents a good profit when your price is over $50!. I wont drink a whole bottle because I drive. If I wanted to pay $75 for a full bottle that I am not going to drink completely i would buy it at my liquor store for $14.99 plus tax! Usuallyour dj's are good, however, what is the reason that they play reguetton for one hour then one salsa, one bachata perhaps one vallenato, and then back to reggueton. Don't understand. You guys were great but going downhill quick. If it was not for your nice and courteous waitress and bartenders you would be hurting. I tried your new place as i WAS a loyal customer but it leaves a lot to be desired. I am sure you don't care about one lost customer that represented about $400 a week, but many of my friends that I introduced to " las palmas" feel the same way and probably will take there business elsewhere. On another note, why in the world would you do away with music videos???? That brings people in!!!! Why would you do away with showing soccer games, when that brings in soooooo much revenue??????? Dissapointed LONG...

Service here was AWFUL! I sat outside where I normally like to sit I had walked in with my cigarettes as a habit I knew Immediately that I wasn't supposed to but I was still confronted rudely by one of the waitresses that I wasn't allowed I just looked at her and said "...ok" I ordered a margerita and an app to start everything off She asked if I wanted Jose or patron I said patron and she walked away. She came back with a warm watery drink I still drank it because a drink is a drink lol I didn't receive my app till my food came in The shrimp was these little baby shrimps that looks like they buy it in the frozen section of Walmart. And they serve it with 3 regular size shrimps that also taste like plastic and old. The tilapia tastes like dirt and I wish I was exaggerating. I told the waitress if I can switch it for something else and she said sure so I picked the tilapia without the shrimp and garlic sauce and by that time I didn't even want to eat anymore so I packed it up. The bill came and she still charged me for tilapia & shrimp meal. I asked her why and she said it's an exchanged. I said exactly that means I didn't eat the shrimp because it tasted terrible she said she'll take it off and then I noticed I was charge an extra 3$ for choosing patron which she really didn't give me an option for regular tequila. All she said was Jose or patron? So before my pierto Rican side comes out I asked to speak with a manager the manager came and even she was giving me a hard time and the waitress was just standing there laughing . I refused to pay it and the waitress said ill put in my own $3 to pay it. And I said yeah you do that. I would never go there again. Food isn't good unless it's...
