We were disappointed as we went to celebrate our Anniversary. Not the best service or food. Service started out good, with great bread Svc and 2 glasses of complimentary champagne. It was only 7:30pm and they were already out of the specific dish I went there for, the main lobster, stuffed with crab. The waiter mentioned they had the smaller lobster tails and offered to do 2 for $60. We waited over 45 minutes and one of the 2 was raw and cold when it finally came out. The crab stuffing was dry. The waiter offered to remake or “heat” up the raw one. I agreed for the re-do. We don’t like to complain much, but we were there for a special occasion and expected a higher caliber of food and service. The 2nd try with lobster came out quick and we took it home. Surprising how fast it came out, and how it was laid out, inside the shell not on top like the original which made me question if it was the same one taken back as the waiter came back out and asked to take raw one back per chef request”. Needless to say, it wasn’t eaten. My husband got the ribeye steak. His was cooked perfectly. The mushroom risotto on the other hand was very soupy (runny). He just packed it. We ordered the chocolate sphere, another item we’d seen ahead and were excited to try for dessert. The waiter said, however, the banana dessert was best, but we had heart set on the chocolate sphere ($22.) and again were disappointed with the gasoline “like” burnt oil taste (flambé) which we are guessing was the alcohol/liquor used. The biggest surprise was the table across from us ordered same thing, lobster and their waiter told them same thing, no main lobster, and offered the 2 smaller ones but upsold them for $70. We spent over $300. & we don’t skimp on tipping. We will chuck it up to maybe they were having an off day”, but needless to say, will not return and because this was our special occasion, would...
Read moreHad dinner for a party of 8 on Thursday, June 23. When we arrived, the restaurant was about 1/3 full so not really busy. Service started off well with drinks and appetizers. The French Onion soup and Lobster Bisque were both outstanding!
Both myself and my BiL pre-dinner ordered their signature Manhattan cocktail but I was unimpressed. They didn't separate the orange slice from the peal nor did they muddle it so the flavor from the orange peal didn't mix with the bitters but they did have highball ice so that was a plus. Ordered dinner (most of us had the filet) and then things started to go down hill. The main course arrived and the steaks were barely warm. The waiter then told us the sides weren't ready and would be out in a few minutes. 5 min later, the sides arrive and they're hot. I suspect the steaks were either "resting" or mis-timed with the sides but they should of arrived hotter than they were. My preference is for everything to come out at the same time. My steak was over cooked and my brother-in-law's was undercooked. The mac and cheese side was underwhelming/runny and looked like it came from a box but the Potatoes Au Gratin was excellent. Waiter made suggestions for wine with dinner and I ordered but didn't arrive. I suspect he forgot to put the order in. Offered me a refill on my glass of diet coke but didn't bring it until the check was already on the table. They do have an off-the-menu kid's menu so that helped with the 11 and 12 yr old in our party. Left a hefty tip because it wasn't all the waiter's fault but I think perhaps if it's a large table, there should of been two people assigned. I also noticed the waiter's time was divided between our table and at least one more, possibly two others, likely contributing to him not paying full attention. For the money, I don't think it...
Read moreWe are visiting the states from the United Kingdom and as a treat we decided to treat ourselves to a nice meal somewhere. As a result we ended up eating at the Venetian chop house which was found by my sister (the steak lover). Now let me tell you how astonishing this restaurant is , we didn’t have a reservation yet they still managed to get us a table in this perfect dining room. We arrived at around 8 O’clock consequently we were one of not many parties eating. The staff there are the friendliest Hostesses and waitress's I have ever had the fortune of meeting. Every single one of them had a great personality and constantly had a smile on their faces. We even had the honour of meeting the Michelin star chef to tell him how splendorous the food was. I ordered the 16 ounce Ribeye steak which I can personally say is without a doubt one of the greatest meals I have ever had. It was so flavourful and juicy it made my mouth water when I saw it. Some would say love at first sight 😂. With this is as a family of four we ordered three sides as advised by our waitress because they are big sides and all of these three; the lobster mac and cheese , the gnocchi and the grilled asparagus each of these were flawless in every way. For dessert I ordered the chocolate sphere wear a waiter performs a table side flambé. Additionally I tried some of the other desserts from my family and they were bewildering. As expected there will be a hefty price for such an outstanding experience but I believe it is completely worth every penny. Big shout out to diesel, a.k.a Garry, as he was the star of the show; he was always keen to see how we were doing and if everything was up to standards. His bubbly personality just gave our night an extra level of comfort. This is why I have given this restaurant 5 stars...
