This one is really difficult to write because I WANTED to support a local establishment.

The main reason I probably won't go back is the smell. They have multiple plug in spray fragrance things around the restaurant and bathroom. As we were sitting at our table, every few minutes, I would TASTE the fragrance spray. I smelled it over my food that I was holding. I couldn't even enter the bathroom.... and it gave my kids a headache. I asked the server if we could remove the one nearest to us, as we were all getting headaches from it. She very kindly obliged. When I was checking out, another server went and plugged it back in. I mentioned to the other server that the place doesn't smell bad and the food smells fine so the plug ins really aren't needed and are a negative for the place. The first server told the other server she'd received multiple complaints about the plug ins and the overwhelming smell in the small restaurant. The other server, who is older and seemed more in charge, said that the old owner liked them. I said they definitely don't need them now and they've really done a nice job with the interior. She said they'd hide the plug ins so we can't see them. I was a little surprised honestly... I told her I SMELLED them before I looked for them. She didn't respond so I took that as this will be my last time in this restaurant lol. Multiple complaints on the smell should mean something...

Other items I was going to overlook for growing pains--- Our server.... was so young and cute. She will be great when she learns how to be a server. We let her know our table was very wobbly and just ask for sugar packets or a napkin to quick fix it. She said it happens as they move the tables around and didn't bring anything for the table. Lol. We had to be very careful in leaning on the table so it didn't spill our drinks. Pre-bussing, refills, coming back... are items that can only be learned with serving experience. We still tipped her well.

The food... was mostly disappointing unfortunately. Good--- the loaded tots are great!! Love the favor of the queso!! House salad dressing! Tasty. Bad--- the burgers... were disappointing. The buns, and the items added are all great!! Egg, fresh vegetables, sauces... all good. The burger itself was TINY!! That delicious bun is much too big for that fast food sized burger. It definitely was not a $10.99 level burger.

I had the Loaded Burger-- which minus the tiny, mostly tasteless burger, was an egg sandwich on a delicious bun. The fries are basic and boring. I didn't finish the burger or the fries. The salad was good. I like the spinach mix and house vinegarette.

My husband had the Knightstown burger. He liked the spicy mayo sauce...otherwise when I asked him his thoughts, he said "it was ok". His burger looked a bit larger than mine and our kids... He did like the fries. He wasn't happy with the scantily clad salad. (But all they offered on the salad was onion and we asked that taken off).

Overall-- I would have gone back multiple times looking for something to update positively... as my followers know, I love finding local gems wherever we travel to highlight. This place though.... unless they remove the old granny perfume smell from the restaurant, I literally cannot return...and wouldn't considering they are actively ignoring multiple mentions of the smell...

Our server was sweet!!! She was great. The food? Nope. You only get 1 sausage(deep fried?) when you order a side of sausage. The pancakes I swear are microwaved! They were tough and hard to cut for my daughter & me. Not from the griddle. My biscuits in my biscuits and gravy were hard to cut through as well. Did you microwave that too? Glad I only got a half order. For hearing a microwave door through the kitchen, I would expect the food to be hot but it wasn’t. The fried McDonald’s like hashbrown was. It was very tasty. Don’t ask for lunch before lunch time!! The server told a customer that they could wait 15 minutes if they wanted lunch. Give me a break! I’ve worked in the restaurant business. It’s not hard to throw fries in the fryer and slap a burger down. I know the fryers were on because that’s the way you cook your 1 sausage for your meals. I actually came in because I wanted lunch. It was 10:30. Completely disappointed in the food here. Got tiramisu to go. It was good. We won’t be back. Good luck little Restraunt. I highly suggest you be ready for lunch by 10:30 because you gave a local an order of fries but wouldn’t budge for 2 tables that wanted something similar.

Also note- this place has only been open for 2 weeks? Clean your bathroom! The wall under the air dryer is discolored and nasty. CLEAN THE WALL! The toilet base!!!! CLEAN IT! Servers or staff should do that on a...

Went for a birthday lunch for my mom. We had a party of 8. Even though they were super busy, the server was prompt, kept our drinks refilled, and the food was FANTASTIC! I personally got the walnut apple salad and it ranks in the top 3 of salads I’ve ever had! Great spring mix blend, thinly sliced apple slices, bleu cheese, and a fantastic house blend vinegarette!!! We met two of the partners including the chef! They were both kind and asked for general feedback! Only two things I suggest. One….adding that breakfast is only served until 11:00 because I had heard the eggs Benedict was great, and two adding that the burger came with a house made sauce. They were receptive to both suggestions! The fettuccine my grandma and nephew got could have been garnished with some parsley. When I asked about that the chef said they originally had garnished it with herbs and an edible flower and peoples food pallets were not receptive :( overall definitely a GREAT experience and will be returning!!! Happy to have them in our...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stopped into The Knightstown Restaurant for a Sunday family meal, and it was everything you’d hope for in a small-town gem! The cozy atmosphere gives “home-cooked comfort” vibes, prices are refreshingly down-to-earth, and the food? Full of flavor and heart. 🥞🍔 The service was spot-on — friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind (you can tell they care). And bonus points for their punch card system — earn a free appetizer just for coming back? Yes, please! All in all, a hidden treasure in Knightstown that hits all the right notes: good food, good folks, and good hometown charm. We’ll definitely be back!

My dad and I stopped here during our visit to see Hoosier Gym on our way back Nashville. Had a really nice lunch here! I had a ribeye steak served with a mushroom gravy over fries and a side salad which was really good, and my dad enjoyed his calamari salad. Ally was a very sweet and wonderfully attentive server too. Kind of surprised when they said it’d only been open for five weeks! I’d definitely recommend if you’re visiting Knightstown to see Hoosier Gym!
