Happy Garden — Restaurant in Knoxville

Im rating this place a one star simply for the fact of cleanliness. As soon as i sat down in the dining area my three year thought it was funny to rub this black substance on my arm...i asked him what it was and he started touching the wall beside him. I looked up and the ENTIRE wall was COMPLETELY covered in black mold. I seriously dont know how this place is open due to this SERIOUS health concern. If someone sat here with asthma they would probably have an attack or even worse..someone with cystic fibrosis it would cause them to stop breathing completely. I dont know if they had a leak in the wall or what but this place needs to close until this issue is fixed. I had to move tables three times to make sure i was far enough away the particles would not fall or float into my food. On another note..i loved the prices of everything..i didnt know it at the time but the buffet price advertised includes drinks which is awesome. The food was good and if not for the mold this place would be a weekly visit but i cant put my family in harm breathing in mold particles. It might not have anything to do with the mold but my son got sick with a cold the next day and has had it for days...owe also..it would be nice if ever now and then they wiped the tables off..we sat at three different tables and they were all disgusting and sticky and covered in food...this is one of the dirtiest restaurants i have...

What I got: •House special won ton soup⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Has fresh veggies, chicken ,beef,shrimp and pork won ton 5 stars

• Chicken on a stick ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My goodness these guys know how to do chicken.. that chicken on a stick was perfectly seasoned and had a light smoky flavor , very nice 👍 5 stars

• Crab Rangoon ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tasted like your typical Rangoon nothing special but we're fresh so 4 stars on that one

•Beef and mushrooms ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ beef was tender, big juicy mushrooms in a beefy glaze.. very tasty 😋

•Mongolian Beef ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tender beef but was very onion forward. Good price point would like too see some water chestnuts and a little more beef than onion but otherwise it was really tasty. Had good flavor for the sauce. 4 stars

•Sesame beef ⭐⭐⭐ This is the only thing I got that I would say was not spectacular the flavor was good the beef was tender but they were huge chunks that were not bite size and required a knife to eat and the tempura on it was really thick. If they made the chunks bite size and thinner batter , it would make this meal so much better. 3 stars 😢

Has a small dining area but they do have a buffet out. Very friendly wait staff and the food was really good. The beef and broccoli was good also like the cheese wontons. Did not try the soups because I was getting this meal to go. I did however use the restroom and if anybody has been keeping up with my reviews I am really big on restrooms at restaurants simply for the fact that if they let the restroom go down in the cleanliness inside the restaurant will be down as well. That is why they did not get a five-star review. I would suggest the owner if he or she treats this that you really get your bathrooms in a sanitary condition. It is a true reflection of not only how you run your business but also what your kitchen looks like. Some folks would think I'm foolish in this reasoning but think about when your employees go wash their hands if the restroom is nasty they're still going to walk out of a nasty restroom if they touch the doorknob or brush up against something God forbid it'll be just nasty.
