Sombreros Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Kochville Township

First time eating here, heard that the food was good. Went in, the place was completely empty, I think that most of their business is take-out since they are across the road from SVSU, there was only one server working at the time, she was sweeping the floor, she told us to hold on a minute, then told us to have a seat at the table right next to the door, we sat down and after awhile she brought us some menu's and asked what we wanted to drink. We looked over the menu, waited for her to come take our order, mind you, she was still sweeping the floor in the same spot that she was when we came in, so after sitting there awhile waiting to order, my husband put his hand up to get her attention to let her know that we were ready to order, she told us to wait a minute until she was done sweeping, so we waited... in the meantime, alot of people started coming in for take out orders, we were still waiting to order, kind of cold sitting right by the door, so we asked about moving to a different table, she then said "I seated you there because I wasn't done sweeping the rest of the restaurant ", we remained there by the door. Finally ordered our food, didn't take too long to get, it was pretty good, but I have to say that the service was the worst. Almost didn't leave her a tip, if we ever eat there again, which is probably unlikely, we would get take out. The only reason I gave them 1 star was because the...

Food is usually pretty good for the price... Just called for takeout and was told they were too busy to take carry out orders unless I came into the store to place it. This makes no sense and would only serve to increase foot traffic in an already cramped space. It saves nobody any time and inconveniences the customer. In the time I was told I couldn't place an order I could've placed one. I'll probably be back some time but this idea was just silly and irksome and should be rethought.

Ordered again a week or two after the above review. Food was so good I forgave and forgot.

Then another week passes and I ordered again a half hour prior to closing and was told they stopped taking phone orders exactly at the moment I called. (5:30). This seemed silly but ok... They aren't far away so I go to order at the restaurant. Despite the listed hours the unlocked door and the illuminated open sign I was turned away.

New Mexican restaurant in town so of course I had to give it a try I love supporting new small local businesses! First off the staff is very friendly and there wasnt nothing to say bad about the service. However the place is lacking in any culinary experience in authentic Mexican food. For starters the rice had no flavor at all and almost tasted like white rice from a Asian restaurant the beans were even worse I’m pretty sure that both were not made fresh that day. I tried to get a little of everything the pastor, ground beef, and Asada tacos, all of which were tasteless with no flavor at all and very tough.
