My husband and I went here yesterday as part of our weekend getaway. Firstly make sure you make a reservation before you go because the night before we stopped in and were unable to get in and it was 6:00PM. Which can be understandable but beware of that.
The next night I had made an reservation for 7PM. We got to our table and it was by a window which blinded us by the sun for about 45 mins. After that time the sun had gone past the trees and it was fine.
Our meal was very good. My husband got the elk and I got the salmon. The service was very good. I also ordered the fried cheesecake to go. Later that nigh around 11pm my husband and I ate the cheesecake. As I ate it I realized there was a long blonde hair in my mouth from the cheesecake. Seeing that my hair isn't blonde it wasn't from me and my husband has short brown hair. I became so sick I vomited violently.
Fast forward to today the next day I call Black wolf run to let them know of the situation. The manger said that the cheesecake is bought from an outside source and not made there. Which really wasn't relevant because they deep fry it which is where the hair was within the coating. The manger said she could have given me a lunch on them if I was from the area. But since I'm not she didn't give me any kind of solution. She did take my email address not sure for what.
I wasn't looking for a free meal but I would have liked a bit more empathy for the horrible situation I dealt with from their food. I won't be going there again. And if you do make sure you check...
Read moreWe recently had a beautiful luncheon in the terrace at Blackwolf Run celebrating my stepdaughter's college graduation. The ambience was so beautiful and relaxing. The staff were easy to work with leading up to the event. The food was the best food that I have had out to eat in a very long time! The smash burger and the chicken salad wrap got excellent reviews from everyone in our party. Compliments to the chef. All of our meals in our group were served hot and tasted amazing! The wait staff, Melissa and another girl (sadly I do not have her name) were very attentive and did a great job serving a larger party. We also had cakes made in Kohler and they were beautiful and delicious! Our bartender made the best old fashioned and was great to talk with! I hope that higher ups in Kohler Hospitality read this review and recognize these employees that do a great job! We also attended Frozen Fairways. Santa and Mrs. Claus was the perfect touch! A young man, named Jameson, was a host for Frozen Fairways. He was on point as a host and the way he helped people with the winter games, cleaned up after people, fluffed pillows, held doors, and so much more really amazed me. He ran the place like he owned it. This young guy is going places and Kohler should do their best to keep him in their organization. Thanks Fatima (Blackwolf Run) and Lauren (event planning) for helping me out! I'll...
Read moreRestaurant is in the center of the golf course attached to the pro shop. The building itself is gorgeous, constructed of logs. The dining room looks out over the combined 18th hole of the two golf courses. The parking lot is downhill from and quite a distance from the entrance, so folks have to negotiate quite an uphill hike before the meal. Also, there is a sidewalk made up of uneven railroad ties that is difficult to walk on. I turned my ankle and almost fell. The menu is quite interesting and I must say pretty good. I asked for anchovies on my ceasar salad and was given sardine slices. Not good. With regard to the service, that is a negative. The wait staff frequently gets orders wrong, omits items and is inattentive, especially when water/bevarages are empty. Separate checks present an insurmountable obstacle sometimes. It would seem like although the servers are knowledgeable and proficient at their jobs, they appear to be shorthanded and are juggling too many tables at once.
Although I have visited several times since I have a friend that likes to eat here, it is not my first choice or even a place I would suggest for a meal. The prices are quite elevated and I can do without the view of the golf course, it's...
