Husband and I went to try out this place since itâs new. We waited for a while to get our drink order taken and food order. Waited even longer for the food. Itâs advertised on Facebook like itâs more of a restaurant vibe but itâs more a sports bar. It was loud when we arrived and only like 12 people in there including us. The game was on I get it, but then the tv was turned up even louder. So what was already a noisy environment became even worse due to people trying to talk over the loud tv. After waiting a while we finally got our food I got a club and the bread was burnt. It just tasted like burnt bread couldnât even taste anything else. I took one bite and realized I wasnât going eat it. I did not complain my husband noticed and he tried it (to see if I was being picky). He also said all he tasted was burnt bread. When the server come over he told her I wasnât going to eat it she asked if I wanted them to make another I said no thank you. I figured this is just how they do their bread as every single piece was burnt. She said âWe can just take it off the bill.â My husband said yeah okay. Then she returned quickly with another sandwich (I donât think they wouldâve even had time to toast enough bread to make a whole new sandwich probably just toasted 1 slice to replace the piece I took a bite from). Again bread was hard and burnt, I took one bite. While waiting for the bill my husband went to the restroom and returned right away he said it was disgusting. We paid (even for a sandwich I wonât eat) because it was still on the bill, and left. Usually I give new places like 2-3 tryâs before reviewing or writing them off. We paid $61 (not including tip) for 2 entrees and 1 appetizer we can get great food at other places. With so many things that made this visit unpleasant we most likely will not return. I will say the server...

As far as the cocktails go, that was another story. The espresso martini had no froth or real taste other than the coffee liqueur. The whiskey kiss was exactly that, the faintest kiss of whiskey. The cocktails were very watery and not well presented or prepared. And to offer a $14 old fashioned it had better deliver. And it delivered only in the letdown department. Iâm glad they had High Life in the cooler.
Our waitress was pleasant but not very attentive once orders were placed. She delivered the food and offered to get me another beer since I was about a third full. I then waited 15 minutes for the replacement beer. When she delivered it, she quickly dropped it, glanced at my spouse and her empty beer and said NOTHING, offering another drink or to get anything off of the table for us. Just subpar service for what I expected.
The entire place is so bright and not in a good way. The lighting is intrusive and overbearing. Parking is non existent, except at the bank across the street. The Notre Dame game cut off and it took ten minutes and multiple people saying something for someone to fix it. It was busy but not packed, hence why I have an opinion on service times and attention to detail.
I had high hopes for my first visit and was sadly disappointed. The north side needs a good spot for entertainment but The Pending Pour doesnât check enough boxes for me to want to return soon. I want to support new local business but you gotta hit a lot of high notes if youâre going to ask the prices they are. I want to like this place but I need them to do...
Read moreWe had an amazing time at The Pending Pour! The atmosphere is relaxed but lively â the kind of place that makes you want to stay awhile. The food was delicious, the drinks were top-notch, and the staff made the whole experience even better with their friendly, attentive service.
You have to try the Black Raz-Arita â itâs incredible! Perfectly balanced, refreshing, and easily one of the best drinks Iâve had in a long time.
A special shoutout to the owner, Dan, who came out to introduce himself and chat for a bit â such a genuine, down-to-earth guy. You can tell he cares about his customers
Definitely...
