The first time I came here for the lunch buffet, I thought the food was good. I wanted to come try out the seafood buffet another time - 9.99 seemed like a good deal for a buffet! I tried it out with my family tonight and unfortunately it was no good. The crab was inedible it was so dry, the hush puppies were burnt, the rice tasted funky... I we really only enjoyed the fried shrimp. Also, I didn't find out until after we were eating (from a tiny printed sign on the buffet) that our dinner buffet was 24.95! This was what really killed me! I wouldn't have spent 10$ on what I ate! I informed the waitress that the crab was extremely over done and that we were not aware of the price when we ordered. I let her know it would have completely deterred us from ordering, we would have gone somewhere else. So, all over I am bummed to say I can only give this establishment 1 star... I paid over 70$ for something my family could barely eat, much less enjoy. :( I am now heading home sick to my stomach! Lesson learned, we will not be back. I am only thankful that my kids dinners did not cost as much as ours!
The staff did not even seem concerned about my complaints, go figure... And when I called to speak with the owner to let her know what happened she basically denied all responsibility and pretty much called me a liar!! I was appalled at the lack of professionalism on her part! I definitely feel better about never going back there again and putting my...
Read moreYou know when starting this review I'm reminded of those two old guys on The Muppets that sing 'why do we always come here I guess I'll never know?' I just don't understand why I keep coming back here? I mean seriously it's like a silent torture. I mean the foods good enough but my goodness it's lukewarm at best. I don't understand why it's so hard to keep food hot? I personally don't know anybody that likes eating lukewarm food? The whole time we were there I never saw one person coming out to manage the food, basically to temp it and see if it was hot. As a rule I usually get something off the menu, which I wish I would have done this time. I ask my wife when we got home what would you rate that out of 10, she said four, I told her I would rate it a 2. I mean I'm not one to complain but come on guys really! I said to her for $10.99 (almost 2 dollars cheaper) we could have gone to the Golden Corral and had a free drink to boot! The Golden Corral has a special for seniors from 1 to 3 for $10.99! Which yes includes a drink! I can tell you right now, it's going to be a long long time before I go back here! I noticed there's a few reviewers making comments about the temperature of the food. Not suprised. Frankly I don't think Mama Jack's gives a crap. I don't understand for the life of me how this place stays in business? I guess people have low...
Read moreI haved edited my review because this place has gotten worse*
The crab is always way over cooked, small, exceptionally greasy and now they have someone serve it to you 2 at a time. Mind you this guy is unfriendly and takes his crab police job serious. Last night there was also no lettuce on the salad bar. We never got drink refills. Bucket not emptied or plates removed from table. Boiled shrimp was dry. This has been this way or worse for the last 3 trips. Last night was our last
Went for the first time to try their seafood buffet. What we really wanted were the BBQ crabs and they didn't disappoint! Over all probably the best in this area. They alone were worth the price of the buffet. Sadly, the rest of the food was just....so so. The boiled shrimp tasted weird. Not sure what they are boiled in but they had a funny, medicinal taste. Gumbo is not gumbo. Maybe should be called chicken and okra soup. Fried catfish and fried shrimp were good. What I am assuming was dirty race was horrible. They had a small salad bar with a small selection of fruit. There were other things on the buffet that we didn't try because the crabs were so good. If you having a craving for BBQ crabs THIS is the place to go!! And we definitely will be back for them. However, as a whole buffet experience, I...
