I've been eating food from this Sonic location between 2-4 times a month for more than 5 years now, and it really is the best Sonic in the country. I have absolutely no idea what the criteria for the actual competition is or how it's judged, but for anyone who's curious about what that looks like from the standpoint of a regular customer: The staff is always friendly and helpful, the facilities are well-maintained and clean, and when you combine those things with the way they've been actively in the local community, you get a very nice and authentic small town, drive-in vibe. The ingredients are always fresh, and I've never gotten even the slightest stomach ache from anything I've ever eaten from this Sonic. Whether it's the same cheeseburger I've ordered 100 times or a brand new special of some kind, most of the time that item will look like it's been dressed for a commercial. And as cool as it is for the food to look nice, this also means that you don't have to worry about stuff like getting a burger with mushy ingredients just plopped haphazardly between two buns. It's probably not a big deal to a lot of people and maybe it's something that other people who have worked in food service would notice, but yall - I can count on ONE hand the number of times I've gotten a cheeseburger that didn't have the cheese placed perfectly, in such a way that each of the 4 corners stuck out evenly from the buns and the patty. And thanks to the variety of specials that they almost always have running, usually you can get a good meal for a good price. Two very rare qualities in restaurants today, much less fast food places. And did I mention that the staff is friendly and helpful, too? Definitely...
Read moreI used the app tonight to order and live less than 5 minutes from the store. Being that close, it's expected to wait for the order upon arrival and I did wait approximately 5 minutes and that's not a problem. I get home and attempt to eat within 10 minutes of receiving my order. Here's my dinner: Mozzarella sticks: stuck together because they were under cooked, cheese chewy and cold. French fries: Cold. Sonic cheese burger: Cold. My wife said her chicken sandwich was hot and good, her fries: Cold. The two coke zeros were wet, had ice and cups didn't leak!! Winner Winner!! $28.29 including a $4.72 tip for a chicken sandwich, 2 drinks and a bag of non-edible, trash can filler. This isn't the first time the food took a HUGE back seat to the service, but this time did make me realize that as nice as the staff/car hops are, I'm sure gonna miss them. I...
Read moreEDIT: the manager April definitely was not happy to hear about this and made me want to come back so I changed my review to 3 stars from 1 pending my return visit.
Monday January 20, 2020 at approximately 7pm....I sat at the order box with the red button pushed for 8 minutes before the people inside decided they wanted to do something and took my order. Only 2 other cars here with me, both recieved their food shortly after my arrival so it was not busy AT ALL. I would leave 0 stars if I could....if I have to pay the prices they charge, I kinda expect a certain level of promptness from the employees rather than watching them play games with each other in the order area. Everything else in Krum has closed (fast food) and I'm starting to...
