Sealand Seafood & Steaks — Restaurant in La Grange

I am generally very forgiving when it comes to food at a restaurant, I understand things happen and usually am alot more about how the service is, especially there response to a problem.

So if I decide to leave a place because of the quality of the food, trust that it's really bad.

I believe this place only exists and has any semblance of success because of the lack of other options in the area.

I have tried this place 4 or 5 times now and never had a good dining experience.

This last time has made me decide however to give up on the place all together. I'll caveat with the waitress was friendly and helpful, as much as she was allowed to be. So no complaint there.

I ordered a app of gator and a steak dinner. The steak showed up rather quick amd appeared to be cooked well, I mentioned I hadn't had the app yet, and that I'd really just rather cancel it since they brought the main course first. She explained the management wouldn't do this so I accepted it, and moved forward to eat the steak. Upon cutting in the well charred stearlk, I realized that the inside wasnt medium rare, nor rare, it was still raw, completely.

After that, and the past experiences I decided I would pay for my drink and leave. I left money for my tea amd a little as tip and left.

Strongly recommend avoiding this place. It's just plain nasty.

I have eaten here many times.. being a creature of habit, I always order the same things, but usually chicken fried steak. We ordered the gator bites as an appetizer, and we both had salads as part of our dinner. Well, the gator bites had evidently spent an eternity under a heat lamp as they were dried out and rubbery.

The salads featured one tiny, close to rotten tomato in each one, and some of the lettuce was going black as well. But hey, surely the CFS would be good, after all how can you possibly screw that up?

Well, when the CFS arrived, I cut into it and immediately noticed the meat looked very greasy. Upon tasting, it was inedible. It tasted "off", as if it was old and should have been thrown out.

A complaint to the server was simply met with "Thank you for telling me..." After that, she disappeared, and the check was brought to our table. No, they didn't even remove the CFS from the ticket, nor did they offer a substitute, or even an apology.

About 20 min after leaving the restaurant I suffered explosive diarrhea. Thanks Sea Land for ruining what should have been a nice evening out with friends. My first order of business will be a call to the Health Department, as something is very wrong in...

I ordered salad dresing on the side my salad had dreasing on it and too much dressing for me. I asked if the steak was thin or thick our server said thick. I ordered a tbone medium and receieved a very thin tbone well done. I ordered a baked potato with just butter my potato was swimming in butter. I sent my meal back, and my husband was done with his meal and I still don't have mine.Our server had to come back and insisted that she ordered my steak medium. I don't really care I just want what I ordered, except my thick steak. We will not be back. For what I received the steak was very over priced. Please don't tell me you ordered my food correctly, I don't care who caused the over done steak, i just want one the way I asked it to be cooked.This is the corrected steak, still not what I would consider thick, and not something I would normal pay 29.00 for.
